That pretty much says it..The more people start to realize that they're paying close to 2k for a tag that has recycled techniques, the better.

I object because why change it? If it was hard to get 3k, supposedly it will be just as hard to get 1k, if they're valued the same.

Others do not like the idea of having less even if it equals the same, more people don't like that idea than those who do, so why create a hassle in the first place?

As Logicaly and many others suggested there are alternatives to this ordeal than "losing" credits when you did nothing wrong. People will always have that psychological face that losing = bad, less money is not more in the USA or Mexico or most countries.. and it's just that mindset that is natural. Not everybody will understand why or how less is more in terms of currency on GR.

We took credits out of the system before and taking 2/3's of 'em out again won't change anything except the number of them.

People will still demand rediculous amounts of credits for their small arts, and somebody will be there to buy it. -_-
That is what happened last time. Steadily getting away with charging more each week or month, then trying to sell each other out for cash. Will be the same. -_-

Taking credits out won't change that mindset..

Why not JUST SUSPEND EARNINGS? if people have too pay so much without an income of credits they prices will drop when no one buys items.

If you say that most are getting credits from buying and selling rather then posting, you're ignorant because the credits all come from the one place.

Cut out credits for posts and they guy posting wont buy as easy, the guy selling will be forced to drop his prices and the market will follow to remain incontention.

To do nothing is to piss away a market value to the value of a grain of sand and then eventualy the requested value for items willbecome so far fetched that nothing will sell.

Its obviouse this " disscussion " wont solve anything.

In the past the same people always ended up with all the credits. People who were hot shots at the time.

It will always rise up again, cutting it over and over won't solve anything.

There are other ways to take credits out without cutting from everybody.
It's called compromising. Getting some of what you want but not all of it, so everybody walks away with some satisfaction. Alternatives are a great compromise, ones that have been brought up in this thread.

The reason why GRs economy doens't function like a real world economy is because we don't have a proper amount of currency being removed from the system on a regular basis, via charging to sell things (ie, like everyone else does to post a listing to sell somethin, such as ebay), or taxing what you buy (ie, all credit transactions), hell, if you wanted to you could go as far as allowing people who were suspended to pay to be un-suspended instead (varying on the amount of days they are suspended, similar to the US bail system, and this would buy them time before a final verdict is reached on a ban, if the ban is needed). While the last one wouldn't ever be incorporated, because we suspend people with good reason, upon removal of a mass of credits, and showing everyone that 'hey, you guys just like 2/3 of your credits, learn to drop your prices' as well as add all of the taxes, hopefully things wouldn't get *as* out of control as they are currently.

It won't be hard to get 1K, it will be about 1/3 as easy as the current market (ie, 1000 posts vs 3000 posts). In terms of the market, yes, it will be the same, but the lower rate will be more beneficial because not only can the high rollers still get what they want, for cheap, the noobs who have to post for their credits will get things quicker and easier (such as the better tuts that are *rarely* sold).

As for the real world, sorry, but why do you think currency values between countries fluxuates so much? Ie $2 USD is about equal to 1 GBP, but a few months ago, it was closer to 1.5 GBP. Removal of overall currency does effect its overall value, both in the country and the world. For example if one of the US vaults were to be blown up, super markets would be forced for the time being to lower prices until more currency could be made (and currency is CONSTANTLY being made).

What we did wrong last time is the method of how we removed credits. The only people who sell are active members, honestly. The reason why when you register, your member ID is nearly 150,000, and the board stats are 90,000 is because weve deleted over 50,000, nearly 60,000 members whom haven't been active in over a year. We also only removed credits via fining (which was an extremely low about 500 credits a fine maybe 15 times a week with little stores / crews being made). Most of the credits we removed were on accounts we deleted, AND the new members we banned (such as Lucky Kevin, who had over 20,000 at the time of his ban, although we allowed him to send those to someone, generally we removed them, and still do).

We did NOTHING to remove credits from the active members, IE the ones who control the money. To them it was like the credits never even disappeared (which is where my US Vault analogy is flawed up there).

The one sure fire way to keep the prices lower after we cut credits is to put maximum prices on different objects. 50 credits for tuts, 1000 for sigs, all credits have to be bought at a between 125-150:1 (125:1 at the GR Bank, and 150:1 from members, so they will still get a lot of business). However, as staff we don't *want* to have to restrict members to this.

I don't have a problem with controlling the prices. It might be a good thing.

Ok so "turn off creds for posting" does not compute

when I joined I had VERY hard time getting creds because of stupid ---- like that, I missed bunch of oppoturnities to get great tuts on paid tut section because of it and it pissed me off, also I wasn't good enough to sell my stuff...

well if people arent prepared to cut the credits controlling how much they sell for and are bought for seems to be the only option imo. It will keep them at a curret rate. But you would still need a more effective way to remove them from the system.

    you are clueless.

Ok, so we remove 2/3 of credits and leave credits for posting on, how's that?

Instead of credits, I give tags. I'm talking about the random "first one to post gets x credits" thing, lol.
