so I have a laptop on wireless and a PC hooked up to the same internet connection. I would just use a USB stick, but my files are too large and I don't want to upload to the internet/download because that takes forever. how can I directly transfer my files?
map a network drive on both computers either google it, or ask me and ill give you a quick tut on how to
Mapping network drives can work it is simple on how to do that. It works fine but depends on your computers speed, drastically. If you share the files it is the same thing as transferring them over the network as you are sharing the files over a network. Best way would be to use a USB 2.0 File Transfer Cable. There are couple ones you can buy from different places and all of them are good speeds at transferring high amounts of file sizes. These cables can transfer around 15MB / Sec and up depending on your computer's speeds! I found two online they are around $15 and work with any USB 2.0 Compatible Computer. http://www.cwol.com/usb/usb-2-usb-data-lin...cable-uc250.htm http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16800996012 http://www.amazon.com/Belkin-Transfer-Cabl...a/dp/B000JJPZW0 <--I use this one and it works great between XP and Vista or vice verca. There are plenty out there. Hope this helped Zain

thats great but it wasnt a problem in the first place, and I don't think the topic creator intends on spending money when he can transfer the files for free.

Open up both your computers, hold one PC over the other, and tip it on its side, and give it a few hard whacks on the other side. All the files should fall out of that one, and into the other one. Then, close them back up, and bake for 10 minutes at 180 degrees celcius, or until golden brown.
You know if that actually worked in real life, companies would not be wasting over hundreds of millions of dollars each year to produce USB Sticks, External HD's, Data Transfer Cables, IDE Connectors and various other devices that help us in that matter... Zain
Do you take every post written seriously? And why do you keep suggesting things that cost money when this can be done for free. Who cares if you have to wait a tiny bit for it to finish. You'd end up waiting longer for the product than if you just transferred them on the network. Why do people always take the retarded way these days?
