When downloading torrent(s) using any torrent software (I've tried them all) I only get speeds of up to 10kb/s. I've tried tons of torrents (at different times), left them on over night, and the fastest download speed I've seen is 10kb/s.

I am using a D-Link DI-604 router. My ISP is Rogers. My prefered application for downloading torrents is Azeurus.

If anybody could give me some detailed information to speed up my download speeds with torrents it would be greatly appreciated. A detailed guide for my specific router and application would be prefered since I haven't had much luck with others.

The only reason I bring this up is because all of my friends use Azeurus and they are getting speeds of up to 400kb/s. I've seen them downloading and I was amazed.

make sure there are plenty of seeds, and that you are uploading the file as you download it. your download is a percentage of what you upload. also, the more seeds at high speeds you get, the quicker the download.

do you have the required ports open, or do you get a nat error?

I had the same problem with my torrents, the problem was that I wasn't forwarding the ports. Find out what ports the program uses and forward them on your router.

First off I think rogers throttles bittorrent so go download the latest uTorrent Beta and it should fix up any issue there.
Also general torrent sites generally give poor speeds as there is a poor seeder to leecher ratio, thats why I sign up to private 0day sites.
