So in other words it will be essential to have those very expensive HD televisions in order to use the PS3. - PS3 will not be aimed as a gaming system. In other words, you will need to buy more stuff to use it and will cost around 3000$ depending on the HDTV you buy unless you already have one. Don't come saying everyone will have an HDTV because it will be standard soon. HDTV's will only be standard around 2008, very close to another generation of consoles. Once it becomes standard, the prices will still be high and the % of people that have them will only rise a bit and still a lot of people won't have one since not everyone "standarizes". when HDTVs become standard almostr everyone will get one... the reason? low definition TVs will no longer function because they won't get useable TV signal.
Well that depends on where you live actually. Some cable companies will probably do that, most of them will have both. Why? The providers will lose too much money if they make people buy HDTV's. A lot of people don't have the money to buy one, they would be stupid if they did that too many people would cancel their services. M$ is like that too you know.
