Why not officially sell credits on a ratio basis? This would in turn get more donator's, not just for the credits, but because they love gr also :P. This would be a little incentive for those pesimistic users that think donating for nothing is bad. I think getting a little virtual glory is good when somebody donates like $20 or whatever (in addition to the sexy G.Render Donator ribbion.) Just something to think about. It could go like...

    $1 = 5 Credits
    $2 = 12 Credits
    ...
    $5 = 30 Credits
    $10 = 70 Credits
    ...

    Just an example.

Do you know what donating means?

    Here I'll find you a definition :

    do·nate Audio pronunciation of "donate" ( P ) Pronunciation Key (dnt, d-nt)
    v. do·nat·ed, do·nat·ing, do·nates
    v. tr.

To present as a gift to a fund or cause; contribute.

    v. intr.

To make a contribution to a fund or cause.

Do you ask for something in return when you give a gift? No, it's from your heart, during Christmas, do you ask for something from your aunt, no, they GIVE it to you because they feel it in their hearts.

Donating is souly through the heart, nothing else, it wouldn't be called donating if you received credits for it.

they are basically already doing that tho, they are rewarding you for donating... so it mine as well be the same...

i personally think unlimited name/title changes would get alot more people to donate the $20, but thats just me...

ok, then edit the donating part in the title. if GR needs more money, this is just a helpful way to keep it alive and running, and to technicly get more 'donators' since what the people are getting in return is jsut as i mentioned, virtual glory, which is just what any real life donator in a company gets, except its physical glory. people praise the donator in real life, and people 'look up to' more of donator's or just people who have done more then them. its not like GR is losing something by doing this.

    Merged Post:

and parfekt, you have completly contradicted yourself in your definitions. your definitions mention giving a gift, but it doesnt say anything about not getting something in return, you infer that's what it should be like. Volunteering clearly states that you do something for little/nothing in return. if a company 'donates' to... lets say a local baseball team, they get the companies name posted on the back of the players shirts.... is that not something in return?

I can see both sides here...

    1. yes, Gr gets more money...

    BUT

    2. people that arent allowed a paypal account because of age, cannot get credits, so they fall farther behind while other people get more, then we get the whiners, and all will come crashing down...

sorry, John, I didnt think of that when you origionally told me....

if the people arent mature enuff to live with the fact that they have less Credits then another member, then i wouldnt want them on the forums -- much to immature. i for one wouldnt be donating because as xmaster said, i dont have a paypal account, but i wouldnt care.

hrm, yeah, but we do have minors here, and you know they'll be crybabies...

"wahhh, he has more credits than me!"

only telling you where it could go to the other extreme...

Sorry, I am against the whole idea. For many reasons, though, but I will specify the main one..

It will ruin the economy if we sell credits for $$.. As the staff, that is.. Or atleast the admins.
