Currently I got a ATI RADEON XPRESS 200 Series (ATI RADEON XPRESS 200 Series (0x5954)) and it's a SHARED videocard so it's really annoying....

I think the price is pretty good for the above deal, but being a newbie I am in computers I have no clue if it's direct/shared or if that video card is any good... can someone advice me?

With the 80 bucks discount for an X1300 seems worth it. Give it a shot probably. It's 512MB too ...

I'd say it is a rip off and the diference ebtween it and the x200 isn't anywhere near enough to justify the cost. it is comapreabel to a radeon x400. for the money I'd get an x800GTO. Those currently go for between $90-110 USD.

the x800GTO is "only" 128mb or 256mb... the only thing is most cards don't even use past 100mb of vram with the exception of one or two games with settings maxed out... the x1300 won't max anything out, it's crap.

also verify that your motherboard has a PCI-e slot and not an AGP slot.

I would have to agree with xelink, but if you have the money I would suggest a X1600. I've seen them getting quite good reviews.

x800GTO outperformsn the x1600 and x1600pro... it does not outperform the x1600XT. it costs about half as much as the x1600XT.

The x800GTO 128 costs $100 dollars more than the 512 MB diamond... can you direct me to a place that sells them between $90-110... btw how do I know if it's shared or direct video card?

No, that is a bad video card. What exactly do you need? Gaming? And so you have a PCI-Express slot? Or AGP or PCI?

    in the US,the x800GTOcoss90$ that's approximately 110 CDN if I'm not mistaken.
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList....=&Go.x=0&Go.y=0

any site that shows the x800GTO for 200is ripping you off.
tigerdirect is ripping you off with theirs at 190ish... it has nearly twice the vram but that doesn't matter...

I advise you to try local stores if needed or see about the x700 which is fair.

top is PCI-e; bottom is AGP.

the X800GTO is probably best but newegg wont ship to canada. Comparing the two X1600's i'd rather take the HIS as their coolers are quite good.
