id say it s slighty gone a bit pear shape but this all cuz of the prices. new members of the forum get fed up trying to get 300+ credits just to buy a sig or tut to learn how to do a good sig. but give shaggy a chance tho :)
also do agree summer 05 was awsome

We can't change anything. GR has been sold to the wrong person.

All I see GR as now is an investment for 1 person.

Shaggy hasnt done anything wrong, aside from that e-mail, which he took the time to respond to the communitys concerns about it and even say he wont do it again. Now hes using some of the money he made off of it, to pay a member of this site, to create a better skin that everyone whined and complained that they wanted when Llama and Dave where in charge.

So hes giving us a new skin for the forums. Hes increased our server stability so that we would have less down time and is even considering increasing it some more to even further eliminate the problem (that isnt cheap to do by the way folks). Hes active on the forums, hes on every day, he posts and interacts with the various members on the forums, especially in the off-topic forum. And there is still more stuff to come in the future as well.

He actually went as far as to poll the community on whether or not they wanted a new skin. I dont know about anyone else, but to me that shows that he is taking an interest in what the community wants. He also speaks with his staff and gets their opinions and feedback on the various things going on around GR as well.

I'm really tired of everyone being so anti-shaggy and trying to blame stuff on him. Hes put in quite the effort to try and help improve this site. Yes I realize everyone is attached to Llama and Dave. However Shaggy has done a good job thus far, and continues to put time, and effort into the site. Don't be so afraid of change, its a good thing. However blaming the fact that the site just isnt the same anymore on Shaggy, is not a good thing.

The only thing thats not the same is the members. Everyones greedy for credits. Everyone is selling tutorials, yep, myself included because I cant afford to get any good tutorials because everyone is after credits.

You guys want to make GR a better place? Try being more friendly to everyone, try sharing your graphical knowledge to help the community as a whole improve, rather then trying to make credits off of it. Try not attacking each other over stupid stuff, its the internet after all, we are all on here to have fun, not get attacked by someone we don't even know, for lord knows what reason.

Shaggy may own the site, and pay for the server, and supply us with the graphical interface that we communicate on...but an admin of a site, doesnt make the community on the site...the people on the site do. So stop playing the scape goat game, step up to the plate and take some responsibilities for yourselves and look at yourselves to make this the type of community you want to be in, rather then placing the blame on someone else.

    True, true..

    I agree 100% with that post ;)

Because of the majority of people selling for credits etc, it makes OTHER people sell their things for credits, in order to afford others things.
    i.e. render packs

This, is leading to the new members which join here, having to follow the footsteps of others, to sell .psd's, tutorials and so on.
Meaning this cycle is being continued.

There isnt much point a few people giving free tutorials away, there has to be a MAJOR change, to get the majority of people releasing things for free.

The credit system, has had a large affect on the forums from what I can tell..

I cant really have a say on how other things have affected GR, because Im rather new...
    Just my two cents ;)

I currently can't pass any judgement on Shaggy (that's the name, right?) as I have yet to talk to the guy. I'd like to get to know him, just to know who he is. I really don't frequent this place anymore, I just drop by once or twice a month to see what's up.

I personally thought this site started to go down hill at the fall-winter of '05. Lots of new people started swarming the place, whoring credits, whoring tutorials, being stupid, fighting with mods (the reason I quit), and other dumb things. I use the term 'noob' loose, but a lot of noobs started joining the forums and just bringing down it's overall value.

Though, I guess that's what starts to happen when you have 66,944 members.

    Logic for Admin! :D

She's more right then all of you together ('cept for sD-Dark)

That's why i think that credits should be thrown away, or at least brought down to a reasonable amount. Because some people here still spam because Off-Topic forum isn't getting them any creds.

I agree that a lot of people will leave if the credit system goes away, but who cares. We will have to deal with whiners for about a month and then it's all better. Then the friendly and lovely people of GR will get back and start popping up again.

I myself hate the forum because 100's of people make topics about which no one cares. I'm just here for some of the members which i wub more then the internet.

STOP CREDIT WHORING you ignorant assholes.
Maybe another campaign and 3 day ban for everyone who sells anything? :)

Just make a Freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeebe forum for people with like, 600 posts. They seem to care for the community so they deserve things. Or make Speciiiaaal membership (free :)) for people who deserve extra things because they are nice and help people.

    Ow, and ban 'noobs'. :)

Well I just got back from my 6 month suspension... and i have noticed their is a big defference in the members many of them are plain out ass holes.
ALOT of the Moderators dont even do their jobs(no offense to nay of them)

I say like cheeky said New Skin,New rules that enforced better and less ass holes and moderators need to be more well better.

HERE is a good suggestion from my old forums i use to visit all the time, it was big like this and very organised with less assholes.

There was atleast 3 moderators(trusted) assigned to every forum(these moderators were picked if they are active more in that forum then others)
for example Say computeing ide make akw because he is a good person and active ALOT in compueting.

We need to pull together as a community again but most members (past and current) have left due to problems which were inevitable.

GR's only going down hill in the quality of members and passion for graphic designing, imo. Back in '05 was when I finally got the guts to register after being shown the website around Nov '04. There were many great members back then that really stood out (tooo many to name) and most were very helpful. It's what I personally feel that made summer '05 awesome. Making sigs were stronger than ever and there were so many things going around. Fads and stuff, and crew battles! :D

GR was one of the big places to be to learn stuff for sigs but doing sigs have been in a decline, imo. Not many have a passion for sigs anymore and others just do them just to be the best with current trends or have moved on to other things. Seems like now we could only remember the times when sigs where booming and all the trends we think of crappy now were "Pro" back then.

Well I've had an account here for ages but never used it, only for viewing renders but I got banned on a webbie I spent 99% on. So then I came here, and tbh the tutorial prices are too high... I mean it's just fake money, who the heck even invented the credit system? I don't have a lot of experience here cuz I only come for the tuts and renders, not the community and it just frustrates me having to go make 100+ useless posts here just to buy a god dam tut that most likely will be awful, just their result looked good.
Like a tut I bought recently It didn't help me at all but spent almost 100 creds on it. I agree with the other guy that said the tuts need reviewing or at least slashinbg he prices by half on EVERYTHING so that people such as myself can learn without having to work for a week and when we do get the creds a new one has come out which looks even better but is double the price!!!

I remember when I joined, there was way more free tutrorials, and some decent ones that new people could possibly afford. Now prices for things seem simply ridiculous.
