Yeah alot of cool people left. It's sad. :( But alot of people don't hang around forums all their lives.

I know llamaman probaly got tired of gamerenders. Not in a bad way. But he has to make sure the forum was up 24/7 he had to wake up every morning and read about 1,000 pm's. The internet is a tough world.

The world revolves around money, end of story. Everyones objective in life is to make money to fund their habits and needs/wants. This website, as someone said earlier, is a huge investment that can pay off big time for the person who decides to take the risk on it. You can't bash somebody like Shaggy for buying it when Joe and Dave were looking for someone to come aboard. If you do that, then you might as well say the same for Joe and Dave because they were making money off this site as well.

I pretty much stopped coming here back in March when I couldn't take the crap that was going on anymore. Mainly the members here were becoming so obsessed with themselves and making credits that it was killing the community. Everything costs at least 50 credits (from what I remember) and that can't continue. If you want the site to grow and prosper, lighten up on selling everything or having everything revolve around credits. It's insane that people get so worked up over some fake currency that only has some real value because some kid decided he wanted to sell them off for cash to an unsuspecting member looking to advance himself.

Not only that, but so many members here are just complete douches to everyone. They believe that the net should revolve around them and that they can talk back to just about anyone. Do you act like that where you live? Did your parents ever teach you about this thing called respect? Sure, this is simply the internet and you won't ever meet the people here probably. However that doesn't make it fine to be a dick to everyone and think you rule the place. That's the main thing I think that kills it. New members come here and don't get how things are run, and people are too quick to jump on their back and beat them down with some words. Add to that those newbies not being able to accquire basic things needed to succeed here, and you aren't going to see that many quality members sticking around.

I joined up here at the sites peak, no question about it. Within a month I was a pretty well established member because everyone around here was willing to help you out with whatever you need. Nobody wants to take the initiative to help out the smaller guy, they'd rather crush them so they can build up a stockpile of credits and "reputation" (points and basic view from other members). In my opinion, if you want to bring this site back to being great, you might as well do away with the majority of all credits. Take away a good chunk of credits from every member, force people to charge less for simple things and for God's sake, make restrictions on tutorials. I'd love to see tuts not being allowed to be sold anymore, because that's what really started to kill this site. Make that rule and put some decent punishments on members that try selling them.

You can't make the site perfect again by instilling some new rules, it'll be a long and hard process that probably won't ever completely happen. I'd be interested in helping out if needed, help the mods and Shaggy gain some control over things that go on. If you ask me, the site won't ever be the same. But if we put a little work into it and get some good ideas from ALL members and consider them the same, we can come close.

You can say all you want about Dave and Joe making money on this site, but that was not their primary intentions. They may not have made many sigs and such while they were Admin, but why do you think they would have started GR in the first place, maybe it would have had something to do with their interest in graphics and design? You do not just go on creating a website about a topic you have no passion for, that would be pointless.

The new admin however obviously bought it for the income it generates from memberships and adsense, and selling ad space to other companies. Why else would a 29 year old man with a wife and 1 kid buy a website like Gamerenders? Not because he enjoys graphics or anything this website stands for, that would just be sad.

So you're going to dislike a guy for wanting to make some money before you get a real good look at how he does? From what I've seen, Shaggy has a genuine interest in improving GR for the benefit of the user. He's posting more often than Dave or Joe did (I don't really count posts enforcing rules, I mean like conversing with us) and there's already action being taken to get the new skin we've all wanted along with the new Marketplace rule. All I'm trying to say is don't judge or hate the guy just because he might've bought the site in the interest of making money. Also, I doubt he would've made this sort of investment without having some form of interest in graphics. That would be just pointless in my book.

    ^^

    Exactly.
Shaggy is doing a LOT of work for the site, very quickly at that. People whine that ONE e-mail was sent out which he apologised for and wont do again! Also, Llamaman also offered advertising to sites for money, so lay of Shaggies back, hes doing a good job.

the first step to fixing the problem is agreeing on what the problem is bro :). For such a large, controversial topic, it is quite surprising no one has gotten extremely out of hand and gotten this closed, so far this topic has brought up alot of problems the members see and would like to have fixed.

Thats not true, why does anyone make a site nowadays. They hope to get it big and make money off it. Llama was wanting that too in some sence. Maybe in the bringing he thought he wouldn't make much, but I know he was looking to make atleast some.

Lol Shaggy, why do you even bother argueing with these idiots, there posts arent worth the time. Stop bitching, and close this thread already. There should be a rule against being retarded adn wining about how this site is going down, This site is fine, I see no problem with it and shaggy is a great admin. Everyone wants to make money, I dont care who you are...But this site isnt making that much profit in sence, hosting for a site with this many posts/members is alot, and someone said theres like 2000 prems, but how many of those prems bought there membership and how many posted to get it. Stop being retarded people, and leave shaggy alone, Wining wont make this better, and there is a point where you can make someone say ---- this and shut the site down, and if I was shaggy I might have already done that with all this drama...All these BS threads need to be locked, cause theres nothing to discuss.

This is exactly why I am selling my account here at GR. None of you guys are smart enough to see the harsh reality of it. Its business, he wants to make money, he could give a rats ass about you guys. Dave and Joe started this site with the intentions of creating a place where kids from around the world could visit and converse about graphics, if they could make money on the way why not? But that was not their sole intentions, GR never would have grew this big if they were all in it for the money. Although I guess a bunch of 14 year old kids cannot grasp onto this.

Also "thestarofdeath" you have no say in how GR is not the same anymore. You may have joined close to a year ago but based on your post count you have not visited often enough to have any sort of opinion on the matter.
