This Ram Any Good?

    no.

    are you overclocking? if you aren't, chances are RAM performance won't affect overall performance much

    also what are the specs of your current kit?

    this should have similar SPDs to the corsair kit.

    RAM will run at the same speed/latencies as the slower kit, so there is no need to toss the exrta $$$ at more RAM when it turns out to be pointless.

    one question, is it an intel or AMD setup?

    Im running a AMD kit (AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Overclock a bit to 2.01Ghz)

    No one cares.

    Is there any immediate reason why you want my RAM now? 1GB is usually fine for most things; any chance you can just save and wait?

    then you did one of the following

    1 used insufficient cooling
    2 substantially increased the voltage to a part(or used a bad power supply which couldn't give steady voltage)
    3 did something stupid not related to the overclocking

    two gig ram would be excellent to have but if you have to replace the motherboear i dont think its worth it.
