guys u know that advertisement rule...... i think it is so stupid, u want to know why... because when people post ---- like use this anti virus or use this site for good renders....wtf that advertisement.... and they dont get in trouble.

the only difference between somebody posting this:

"use this site for good tutorials on how to code"

    and sombody posting this:

"come to my site for good tutorials on how to code"

is that the second one gets in trouble... is it just me or does anyone else realize this is the stupidest rule on the site??? i think their should be a different forum for these kinda topics....

edit: im not saying its a bad thing.. im just saying its stupid because both are advertisements...

Well >.< Rules are rules ... You cant do anything about it ...They set the rules , We must follow them as well .. You dont follow them >.< You get warned or even suspended as well ;) So i think the rule of advertisement is ok ..Most of the people trying to advertise their own site or a GFX site ... Advertising isnt allowed in GR ... And if you want to advertise .. You can advertise in your signature spot :P

yes the advertisemnt is a good rule but what im trying to say is that people advertise in different ways that dont get in trouble. what if somebody worked for an antivirues program and instead of saying : come to my site, they say: go here for good antivirus. wtf is the difference?

For usefull links , Like freeware software , Is fine . Why ? Because plenty of people need freeware software appl :P And if they advertise a GFX site/forum , Why dont they get their own members >.<

    Why you want know?

    Accidental double post.

If you say "come to my site" You make it feel like an obligation, if you say "I have a good antivirus site, maby you should check it out."

    now its advice

Considering we already get a huge amount of people coming to GameRenders with the sole intention of (illegally) advertising their website, just think what would happen if it was made legal.

90% of the illegal advertisers that do so in posts at GR are graphics sites. This is because GameRenders is also a graphics site, and it is only natural to advertise at a place where other similar minded people are based at. This is why we are harsh against the advertising of these types of websites.

You don't exactly see the C.E.O of Symantec registering on multiple graphics forums making threads such as "plz join and buy software frm www.symantec.com".

That has been tried before, but it was removed after we felt that there was too much "member stealing" going on. People were also just registering so they could post in that forum.

Anyway, there are many other ways that you can advertise at GameRenders, we currently allow advertising in signatures and there are various paid advertising packages available.
