Righto. I'm an Xbox fan, but I'll try not to be biased. Both the 360 and the PS3 look like great systems. And your facts are correct, the PS3 will most likely be more powerful then the Xbox 360. However, this time around, the Xbox will have many, MANY more games than its predesor, including the Final Fantasy series. Also, its controller has, in many people's opinions, reached near perfection in terms of comfort, portability, ergonomics, and performance. And then there is the price comparison, which was not shown in the original post. The Xbox 360, at release, had two systems (plus various bundles and packs from gaming and electronic stores). One was priced at approx. $300, and the other at $400. Apparently, the projected launch price for the PlayStation 3 is $600-$700. And, since they will be using the new (expensive) BluRay disc technology, games are expected to be well above $70 each. The PS3 may be more powerful, but I doubt it's twice as powerful. Plus, as some of you may have noticed, Sony's been having some problems lately. The PS3 preview videos had been recorded at a framerate of 5-10 fps, and then sped up to normal, super-fast framerate, making it look amazing without technicly pre-rendering it. Also, with what is essentially a virus being found on CDs produced by Sony, you have to wonder if they've messed with other products. I am getting a Xbox 360, for most of the reasons above, and a few others (*cough*Xbox live is better than Sony's online service*cough*).
Really... the fact that you have to pay for Xbox online services and not for the playstation one, is not an advantage towards the Xbox. The playstation servers are not less good, in any way. If you complain about lag, it's your god damn Internet connection ! Because I never in my live EVER experienced lag with Ps2 online play. Now there you all have one of the advantages of a non-unified online service, not everything has to depend on 1 everything-handling menu/service/connection. Also, being one of the consoles and a Nintendo Revolution, I can understand. But buying a Ps3 AND an Xbox360... that's like $400 extra to play a few games only available on one console (wich in Xbox case also come out for PC). Next point: Ps3 controller is NOT a boomerang, NEITHER a bannana. They wouldn't have made it, if you can't hold it properly. I also thought the Xbox360 controller would feel like holding a GameBoy Color with an external batterypack. But no one seems to be complaining about that so I asume it is no object. All buttons are still in the same spot, they only reformed the design wich should improve the position of your wrists, therefore: making long-time gaming easyer. Pictures give a wrong impression about the size. Ps3 is suposed to be only as big as a standard Ps2. Who'd da thunk hu ? Same thing with the controller. Now about the price, the console itself will NEVER cost more than the Xbox360. Really, they are not monkeys putting together some parts. They do in fact have marketing !!! Be amazed ! Only hardcore fanboys would buy a Ps3 for $600-700. And if there is anything Sony wants to accomplish, it is to make everyone into a 'casual gamer'. They will most likely lose $150 on every sold system (same with Xbox) But will earn it back by releasing Blu-ray players/recorders, so that even more ppl will buy a Ps3 to have the technology cheaper, now don't say that aint true because it was just the same for DVD about 6 years ago. The reason for the same release price with equal loss for both parties is that Sony is making more parts (partially) themself while the ppl of Microsoft are basicly just building a pre-assembled computer. Another thing I noticed (yes yet another) is that console prices have never been lower at release and all of a sudden people think they are overprised... Look at the specs of your computer basic or high-end doesn't matter, and think of what you payed for it. Even if it was only for gaming, if it had been for multi-media or sound/image editting... professional software costs money too, lot's of it, you can buy many games for the price of good software. Am I the only one who thinks $70 dollar is NOT too expensive ? I remeber paying €75 and up for a Ps2 game in the time the dollar was still worth more. I think that covers all.
in my opinion the way i see this, ps3 is going to have more advantage but i dont know anything so ill shut up untill it comes out. ez
They both will be good. If you pack enough of the best hardware in them how can they not be good? Or at least have the potential to be good.
You don't have to pay for 360 live, do you? Link me up to something that officially tells me this. [/b][/quote] You can't play online unless you pay. But you can talk with friends online, get free downloads, game updates, etc. without paying.
sony owns lol.its been around for longer and has much more games out for sony then xbox, but then xbox live rules, halo and fable does as well lol.but sonys ps2 is very unrelieable as mine plays copyed dvds but not orignals were as in xbox lasts a life time

We have some guesses, but untill sony says a price, we won't know a thing. OK, maybe the games will be more expensive, but you know, if they're good enough then it's fine for me. I usually play games for a long time anyway. and about Final Fantasy on 360, it will ONLY be FFXI because of the online gameplay. The ret of the series won't be released on 360. Maybe some spin-off titles like FF: CC, but the main series will be PS3 Anyway, I still wanna see the 360's capability's, cuz what I've played so far couldn't impress me (no, I didn't buy it, played on it by a friend). Only Call of Duty was fun, but then the gameplay was nothing new imo...

Launch titles are never impressive since the technology used in the 360 is new to all of the developers. And in my opinion the price matters. I live in Canada so the games will start costing me almost $100.
Both systems are good, but I have been raised on the Playstation enterprise, so I am more familiar with that console. So, I'm leaning toward the PS3 more than any other next gen console.
This thread been made countless times but I give the same response PS3 will beat XBO60 Look XBOX already got problems with many of the 360's out there - thats what happens when things are rushed in a way - I do respect its power and the decent lineup but competing with Sony and MS trying to create its gaming division not wise PS3 has a awesome lineup - 7 players on 1 PS3 - more powerful - But only downfall might be the price and not utilising the full potential 360 got some decent games that I have played and i believe its totally awesome but when the PS3 will hit the shelves then it would rock the foundation PS3 4 Life
Hmm another good post being attacked by Sony fanboys, but luckily theres some MS fanboys to fight them off Just for all of you Sony peeps, i'd like to throw a link your way PS3 vs. Xbox360 This comparison is solely based on stats, so it may not be 100% accurate. I hate people who say "PS3 OWNS THE XBO60!111111" How do you know? The PS3 isn't even out.. They both look like good powerful systems, but I'm wondering how the PS3 is gonna get by in a 7player game of killzone 2 with only 256mb of ram :/ I'll post this for you too lazy to click the link
