It actually kinda is, or plays a roll in trends at least. When a new trend comes out it's usually always original. If everything that was original was a trend you would have some people making pretty ugly looking GFX though.

C4D is the most popular and i think always will be because its not hard for noobs to slap a render and a C4D on screen O_O

    not really.

only a easy technique becomes a real trend.

look at gaussian bliur on lighten. or those ^*%^&R%^& clipping masks. or really huge borders.

smudging is the anti trend. you replicate a smudge exactly. and it takes skill. not just settings.

    ditto with digipaintings.

Originality isn't a trend, it's the opposite of a trend.

Especially when people look at one of those collage tags and call it "original", it's a style thats used a lot, so it's not original.

grunge brushes were popular. So were the motion/gaussian blurs on lighten. Clipping masks a plenty. Also zillions of little dots from soft brush that glow. I've actally seen tags with all of what I just said lol. But it seems that these have faded away.

Now I see textures everywhere. Smudge settings are also being whored.

I really want to make a grunge tag, with blurs on lighten, with lots of clipping masks and millions of soft brush dots and make it look good in a contemporary view xD
