Storyline:Arthur Dent's friend is not normal, he is an alien. Ford (The alien) saves arthur mere seconds before the world is destroyed. They become hitchhikers. Because Vogon aren't to fond of Hitchikers they get dropped in outerspace, and suddenly get picked up by Zaphod Beeblebrox -President of the Galaxy- and Trillian -Earthgirl that Arthur met last night- The chances of that are 2 to the power of 2079460347 to one. Zaphod has 2 heads, which was necesarry because you cant be president of the galaxy with a whole brain, and he wants to figure out the question to life, existence and everything.
That question can be found in a supercomputer found on Magrithea. To get there they use the Infinite Inprobability Drive, but they land on planet Archel 6...And by coincedence that is the planet on which Zaphod's biggest enemy, Humma Kavula, lives. And Humma Kavula has coordinates to magrithea. But he wants a gun in return. On the planet Trillian gets kidnapped and Arthur Ford and Zaphod have to go get her. When they end up in a triangle of some sort of black holes that bring them to all sorts of places Arthur gets scared and doesn't enter them. He then gets taken away by a man that is recreating the earth and everything else in a new dimension. He takes Arthur home but his friends are taken over by two mice - the ones that wanted to know the question - but gets rid of them and they live happily ever after.
Rating: Personnaly i would give it 5 out of 5. The movie is brilliant.

this is one of my favorite books and when the movie came out i was confident they wouldn't cut stuff out (book is only about 200 pages) and i was correct, they did an excellent job on the movie i love the cast, special effects and of course the humor and satire.
if you have yet to see this movie i suggest you download it right away

It was funny, a little weird at times, but good nonetheless.
