I found this topic on another forum thought I would share it.

Yes, what are your opinions on the death penalty? Is it right? Wrong? Do you even care?

Well me I say don't kill some if you don't want to be killed. I think they should have it. It would scare a few I would hope.

Death is the easy way out. I'd rather have bad criminals live a terrible terrible life in prison for life. Real life, not this 25 years garbage.

50+ years in solitary confinment would be alot more satisfiying. Deaths easy and doesn't act as a deterant.

The death penalty is effective in a few areas now adays, the latest contraversal was that Nguyen person who got the death penalty in Singapore, because he had a gram of cocaine. Crimes like these are not as bad as like the Texas Chansaw Masacure, or something like that. I think it really depends on the crime. But all in all, it's more about morals. The Government is more about revenge now adays, such as if someone got killed, then they should be killed. But there have always been accidental murders, like driving ur car, and you spill something. you look down to pick whatever it is up, and you hear a loud thud and a shreak. That does not deserve the death penalty. Sure, they should lose their liscense and go to prision for a few years.

Im friends with someone who is now on parole from over 70 counts, he spent 2.5 years in jail due to 6 felonies, and over 50 misdimeanors. He used to smoke so much before prison, he was into all of this crazy ----. When he got out, for parole, he just wasn't the same him. He quit smoking, he doesn't do any more drugs, he's well-groomed, hell, he's going back to High school.

Life has it's own twists and turns and we just have to play it out, but life is short, why waste it? Why take a life away, when you can give them more?

Depends on the crime. If it's bad enough, like a serial killer, then he should be slaughtered.

Are you willing to pay around $40,000 per year per person to live in prison? I sure as hell dont. I am for the death penalty, I say we should also bring back the firing squad. I will supply the first box of bullets.

I think there should be no death penetaly bacause the person sitting on death row has an easy way out. He need to sit in prison and he needs to feel guilty for what he has done. No ifs and or buts about it. If this person killed a man and we put him in jail cause its wrong then why is it right we can kill him for killing. That dosent make any sence its not right. We are commiting crimes that we say need to be stoped. I swear America half the time is retarted about things.

    P.s. I am American

You take someones life on purpose and you deserve to die, it stops clogging prisons up and saves money. Everyone wins.

PS : Except in self-defense etc

I'm for it in cases where its deserved. It all depends on the circumstances, but for crimes such as murder then its acceptable.

    *sigh*
Studies have even shown that the human psyche is incapable of remaining sane if they lack human interaction. If you really want to punish someone, solitary confinement for life is the best way to do it. Give them a few weeks and they will be clinically insane, give them a couple of years and they will start developing psycological disorders such as lesch-nyhan's syndrome (the incapability to stop oneself from self mutilation, such as biting OFF their own fingers, toes, skin from their bones, muscles, etc.) and given a few years their mind will eventually shut down due to lack of human interaction (proven, if you need proof i believe there is a documentary on youtube or google movies about this from a few professors and prison psychologists).

As far as the death penalty is concerned, i am all for it for the simple fact it lowers taxes. Yes, it is the easy way out for the criminal, but what does that matter to you? You werent involved in what the person did who got the death penalty (your alive still, arent you? lol), you werent affected by it in any other way except disgust unless a closely related member of your family is a prime person in the ordeal. Where its easy for him, its also easy for us, less taxes = more of our own money.

I personally believe that harsher punishment is key, if it was up to me, id let him go into solitary confinement until he died, the worst way to die. You would be longing for death and it wouldnt come for a few more years... and in those years your desire for death grows and grows. Most of the captured soldiers in vietnam and WWII were sentenced to punishment by solitary confinement until their brain wore out on them and it was a matter of sanity or saying what you knew and, in the very worst, being released to other inmates and severely beaten until dead, which they preferred to solitary confinement on average.

Then again, I also have the personal desire to buy land along the Texas border to mexico and buy a buggy with a gun turret on the back and shoot anyone illegal border crossing as they are crossing on private property. Thatd be the day, getting drunk and shooting illegal immigrants as they cross the border onto your private property... and yes, this is technically legal, as your allowed to shoot anyone with intent to harm on your private property, and they are already illegal and causing problems for your taxes, so its legal as far as im concerned, if its not, im sure i could dig up a cellar and place the bodies in there.

And you all know the state that executes the most death row inmates per year right?

Texas, and do you know the prison that is doing the most? Thats right Huntsville, just 40 miles north of my house. Proud to be a Texan.......

As for those who wish to come and commit a crime in Texas, just remember, you number WILL come up. I promise. It might take a year or 2, but IT WILL COME UP.
