how many of people have been sent it? now how many have downloaded it? now how many have run it? i have done all three, but this was a while ago, and im smart enought to know how to get rid of it. but, some of my friends are not so smart. so, i have been sent this galore. i downloaded it but have not run it.

the file name is pic0001.com i want to decompile it to see if there is a way to create a "vaccine" for this virus. anyone know how to do this?

Background info: this virus is rather basic, and therefore is not picked up by some virus scanners, it just doenst see the program as malicous code. when you run this program, it becomes a worm it sends a link to itself to everyone on your buddy list. it also screws up your mouse, creates popups, and randomly clicks the mouse (maybe more, maybe less its been a while ssince i had experienced it first hand)

anyway. thoughts on it? anyway to decompile it? im pretty sure you just have to delete it to get rid of it, but you have to do it in safe mode (i think)

there may be other ways im not sure. anyone want to vmware this virus and see what it does?.

    chat away.

Virus Picked up by these Anti-Virus programs:
    1. Avast.
    2. Norton.

please tell me if any others pick up on this.

I get a lot of IMs for me to click those links...looks like my friends are stupid. I would just ask what the link is before clicking it.

picture05.com is the exact file name.

btw. .com stands for command, its a low level dos stuff i think. but maybe its written in python, java, or c. not sure, dont know much about programming.

no, ive had viruses attempted to send to me, AIM/MSN/email, but it is a .com, not .exe or anything, my guess is its a ximplified like .zip or .rar, and extracts and runs itself whenever you try to run it.

EDIT: just read it, i think its a c++, which is very powerful, be careful.

Yeah that AIM Fix is great, I was gunna post that here as well under a different link. It's constantly updated each time a new Worm or Virus is found and it takes seconds to run and finish. Works great.
