I am curious about making templates. I have the skills to do it but I'm not sure about what size the templates needs to be.

You guys have any general information on this, any tips for a first timer?

    Help will be appreciated.

    you mean 800x600

dont make them to big, you gotta keep in mind people monitor resolutions, thats. I would say 750x830, cuz idc if you have to scroll down, scrolling sideways is more annoying

Thanks for the tips and Mahou about the side scrolling, I agree. It's annoying as hell.

Depending on which type of templates, the size differentiates.
For myspace templates, you want to keep it at around 700X700 for small ones, or 700X1000 for longer ones with comments on bottom.
For actual web templates, you want roughly 750X1000 for tight templates, and 1000X1400 for wider ones. You never want a template where the wide is bigger then the height.

Well yeah just if you are going to make one to make sure the people won't have to scroll sidewards. Thats another anoying thing about large images.

Well technically I'm just making the layout, a template. I'm not going to code it.

And thanks for the advice. I will be posting my template up soon.
