You use a 'Graphic Editing' program obviously. I suggest using Adobe Photoshop 7.0, CS, CS2. Go to a few tutorial sites, learn the basic ideas to shapes and unique objects. Don't read template tutorials, they never help you, get help from other web designers. I suggest using something like Pixel2life.com or Good-tutorials.com. Template sizes are usualy 700x600 Pixels or bigger. Try using the monitor resolutions. Then, the coding you do AFTER you create yourself a template. Usually, you can pay someone to code something for you or find a friend to do it for free. Hope this helps. Oh ya, btw, keep posting new templates on forums to get unique feedback sometimes and gain more ideas on updating / upgrading your template. Maybe you shouldnt post templates on here if your new to designing. A lot of people at Gamerenders just flame in the threads that have bad stuff instead of helping them out. Good luck!

You can make a website out of CSS if your into that kind of thing, or if you want more liberty in what your doing, you can make one using photoshop, flash, fireworks etc.

Look through a couple template tutorials, don't follow the tut then post it on the forum though, nobody likes tut templates, just use the tuts to get the hang of things and the sizes are not usualy 700x600 Pixels or bigger, size is all up to you.
