    Simple Tech Border Tutorial!------

DOWNLOADS: If you want some great tech brushes, use Technical 101

    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
STEP 1: Open up (the psd of) a sig you want to put a sweet tech border on, for mine I am going to use:

STEP 2: Grab the "Crop tool" and give yourself some room to work on the outside of the sig as shown below

STEP 3: First make a new layer. Here's where you'll have to spend some time. You need to grab the polygonic lasso tool ([IMG]), and (whilst holding shift) Go around your sig in a borderish kind of way, as shown below. Once you have gone around your sig, and have the moving B/W lines showing, grab your paintbucket tool, and fill it with black. You should have something like this:

Now, you'll need to make it so you can see the sig, so go to a layer that has the rectangle of the signature, and ctrl+click it... this will select the area of your sig (not everyone has a layer that has the rectangle of the sig, so you may have to just use the rectangular marquee tool ([IMG]). When you've got the shape of the sig selected, hit delete, and you should have something like this:

    STEP 3.5

You'll want there to be some of the border inside the sig itself as well, so you'll need to grab the polygonal lasso tool again, and on the same layer as the first black areas, select some shapes on the inside, and fill those with black. You should have something like this:

STEP 4:Now to add a metal style to it! Right click your layer, and select "Blending Options", and apply the following.

    Inner Shadow:

    Inner Glow:

Bevel and Emboss: If you want a flat bevel, set size to 0 instead of five, it gives it a steelish look.

    Satin:

Color Overlay (On this one, whatever color goes best with your sig, I am going to use a dark blue, for metal, use grey):

    Stroke:

And now you should have something like:

Whew, OK, done with that, Hang in there, we're almost done!

    FINAL STEP!:
Select your eraser tool, and then choose the tech brushes you want to use, you do this the same way you would to change brushes. Once you have the brush selected as your eraser, use different ones, and erase parts of the border, you should get a good tech feel to it.
Ok, now if you see white around your border, you need to grab the "Background Eraser" and get rid of this. Once you have done so, you are all set. Save your image as a PNG or GIF!

Now you have an awesome tech border for any sig!!!
