What is best for Teamspeak and Ventrillo? A headset or headphones and a desk microphone.

Also can anyone recommend me a headset/desk microphone? Thank you :)

i like my headset. Its easy to use (just plug in the usb). plus you have to deal with less. The only problem is if you get pissed or anything and you break the mic then you ened to get a new one with the separate its only headphones.

Vent has less speech lag generally, but more people use teamspeak

If the same person hosted a TS and Vent server the delay between talking would be about 0.2 seconds less on Vent than the TS.

    I preffer TS though.

And I use a headset. Logitech are a good brand

I prefer TeamSpeak, because many people use it, and its easy to use IMO, and headsets are usually more comfortable. I suggest Logitech and Plantronics

Hes not asking if Teamspeak or Vent is better. He wants to know if a headset or headphones + mic combo are better in these 2 programs.

Go for a headset. Probably overall cheaper, less of a hassle, and better output.

I would say headphones and a mic. Headset mics tend to break easily and usually aren't any better if not worse than a desk mic. I have had a $10 mic from radioshack for about 2 years now and the sound quality is perfect...

Yes I am asking which is better microphone and headphones or just a headset, not teamspeak or vent.

    And @ Merge
Because if microphone and headphones is better I would like to get recommended a good headphone, and if headset is better same thing.

    And @coolguy about $50-$70
