The common excuse to typing horribly on the internet is that "it's the internet, not english class." Well, when the time DOES come to write for English class, or for any other situation that requires decent writing, most of those kids couldn't write remotely well if their lives depended on it.

Point at hand: By continuing to write horribly on purpose, eventually you get to a point where you forget how to write well, assuming you even learned how to write well in the first place. Therefore, don't make atrocious writing a habit, because chances are the habit will stick with you.

Nevermind the fact that it's not that you choose to write horribly, but that you couldn't write decently even if you tried, at best you spend 2 or 3 hours a day being taught correct English, assuming you're taking any English classes to begin with. Any time you're NOT at school, chances are you're swallowing heaps upon heaps of horrendous writing through the internet and AIM. Don't kid yourself there; the amount of time you're exposed to correct writing on any given day is not even close to the amount of time you're exposed to sub-par writing.

If you can't bring yourself to write a single grammatically correct sentence on the internet, there's no reason to assume that you would do so for English class--or for any other situation, matter of fact.

Stupafy: It isn't very hard to get straight A's in high school, just do your homework. Which, obviously, you might not do considering your entire posts. <_<

And A's don't show intelligence, they show ability to do work. I personally have gotten striaght F's up until 8th grade and got by on social promotion, but mathematically I'm a prodegy. I could learn anything you throw at me in less than one third the average expected time, maybe less. But yet I get low grades... hmm.... I wonder what that means.

Comatosis makes a great point. Good posts, man.

If i wanna use proper gramma and punctuation i shall go to school and write a fricken essay lol. I mean.. u and all ur lil ppl who complain about bad grammer on forums...dont read them then lol. if u want intelligent converstion and proper gramma and shizzle then go to school and converse wif some teachers via essay format :) Alot easier than bitching about it on a forum that 90 percent of peeples dont care for gramma XD.

    Buh byes

Yeah, I do the same, I hate typing in 'shorthand' or 'slang' because I've seen way too many people do it in real life at school, on mid-term essays and whatnot, I refuse to fall victim to this ignorrance. [/b][/quote]
    Agreed

i really hate when people type like:

hey waz goood m8, nuthin muzch goin arounz over heer

sheesh, i find that odd to see, and annoying to read...

I personally don't give a damn if you don't want to write correctly. I'm already too used to people on the internet writing horribly. All I'm saying is that by choosing to write horribly, the only person you're hurting is yourself. I couldn't care less what the hell you want to do with your life; I'm just saying that you'll get to a point where certain things will be expected of you and you won't be able to meet the expectations.

Do whatever you wanna do; you're only sinking yourself there, homes.

I think you go out of your way to mispell words and leave out grammar.
