Photoshop should make it so you cant drag or anything to the layers and even stop print screen when its open.

Well, I wouldn't go to that extent.

I often use some of my own adjustment layers for my tags >.>

    @Nansta
    CI basically summed it up
Though the consequences are not incredibly high for allowing ripping, there are some, and for that I believe a minor step of adding a rule can be taken. As well as allowing people to give ripping rights doesn't help with the artistic reputation of GR, which I can't really say is improving :/. But that's besides the point, All in all, banning the ability to rip only does good in several senses.

    lol xD

Basically the argument for this topic comes down to:

Why do we not like ripping?

    A. Because it deteriorates the value of art and skill.

    or

    B. Because it violates the creator's rights.

In order to continue this argument effectively, People against the suggestion should argue that implementing Buc's idea would violate the creator's rights (to sell under his own conditions) People for the suggestion should argue that the value of personal skill and art lessens with ripping right sales and the creator's rights to sale doesn't matter as much.

Or that's how I see it. Personally, I'm all for it.

    PS. can you make the
    Code:
    B)
normal and not make the smiley? It's incredibly annoying.

when the ripped layers are unnoticeable then it wouldnt matter. i dont see why this is an issue unless you can please show me 2 different tags with an obvious ripped layer.

Gamerenders isn't a democracy, its more of a generous aristocracy as the staff makes the rules, most of the time with out consulting the community democracy, but the staff also takes input from our suggestions, hence generous.

Any --- argument for B fails in the light of the general governmental type of GR as well, as the information brought to light so far on Point A.

lol, this feels like a debate X.X

its almost impossible to show a direct rip because most members arn't retarded. Thus, most rippers now take the layers of an artist's tag and change it around so its hard to prove the difference. I can show you a recent example by pm if you really want one.

And yes, it does matter because you are not learning from the tag, you are learning to take layers and change them so no one notices. Once again, I'll show you proof if you want it.

what makes you think this thread will stop rippers? seriously, i understand where your coming from but you seem to have a little too much faith in people. they will always break rules, its a part of human nature.

If ripping is frowned upon then why would any logical artist do it, even with RR (lol)? It is their choice if they want to learn or not but when it impacts people besides themselves, then it deserves to be against the rules.

How it affects people besides themselves:

    - Advocates ripping
    - Advocates greed
    - Advocates laziness
    - Advocates cheating
    - Lessens the popularity of forums (in the long run) No one wants to be on a site that rips big time.(look at #1)
    - Lessens the value of art
    - Lessens the value of skill

It generally defeats the purpose of GameRenders

If you can attack all of these points, I'll take your side.

I don't care if it will entirely stop rippers. It deters them to an extent, so it has positive change. Sorry, but if you can't strive for a goal, such as stopping ripping, even with minimal regulations to help, then that goal isn't worth it. So you might as well be advocating allowing ripping always.
"Too much faith in people", No I don't, in fact, quite the opposite; I don't trust. That's the whole point of enacting this rule, and thus helping the deterance posture against ripping.
Yes, so what if its a part of nature? So is fighting. Wars will always occur, greed and fighting is always part of human nature, so what? Should we never try to attain peace? So should we never teach good morals?
