I was just thinking how about a forum or subforum for recomended Stocks.

I know this is GameRENDERS but how the addition of stock images, obviously those images would have to be owned or free for the user to post them. But this i think would incourage another audience to the site, eg. Photographers.

I think this could be a worth while little forum.

Thoughts and Opinions Wanted But remain on topic please. ^_^

The renders forum already has stock packs and other such things, so for now we're sticking with that one section. What I can see happening is renaming that section to Renders & Stocks, would that work for everyone?

Oh for the love of god no, please no.
I would make to seperate sections, Stocks // Renders.
They are two totally different things. Renders have no background, stocks are the originals. I hope you see my point, but if your going to make a stock section, please make a full forum vote, quesion and options being:

Should we make a stock section in the GameRenders forums?

    Stock Section (It's own)
    Merge Stocks and Renders
    No stock section

That's all I have to say for that, thanks for listening (err.. well, reading)

hm from what im thinking members are going to post random stocks from quality stock sites into here to boost up postcount & creds - Its not a bad idea but then how can you keep track of legit and un-legit stock photos that are not royalty free

I know the difference between a stock and a render, that's not necessarily a problem though. You can easily tag the topic title with [Stock] or [Render]. Perhaps one section with two subsections?

I would like to see two different sections. But, if the farthest you guys are willing to go are sub-sections, I'm willing to go with that aswell.
The joint thing just doesn't work with me, I'm sorry, it just bugs me.

Another point is what Dark mentioned, how would you know if the member has permission to post it?

Also, credit inflamtion would just be whored to the fullest. For posting one image that can be found on google, they get one credit. "Oh look, I went on google, went to image search, googled up 'girl with rose', and let me post it now. Hey.. If I find another image of a guy holding a rose, I can make a new topic! New topic means more credits!"

Along with credit inflation, there is going to be a huge storm of posts within the first month. Remember this time last year in the renders section? Remember how gamerenders used to crash atleast once an hour do to people trying to get credits?
Imagine, people worked atleast an hour on each render to post an outcome. This time around, it will take about 15-20 seconds to find a stock, post it, make a credit, find another stock, make another topic, and so on. Gamerenders will just be down more then it is up.

I would suggest making the stocks section atleast 60 posts (and a months wait) in order to get in there. Along with that, you can post no more then 3 topics daily in that section (or subsection).

    Those are just my ideas.

The subforum is the way to go no doubt. Its own forum would be handy but a sub-forum will work. The whole concept adds more depth to the site i htink.

That could be a problem but it would be obviouse to people if your mearly posting 15 stocks to boost your count.

But i feel GR should make this section and awarded section, like the prem section because it will give users more reason to post or subscript.

The is no real method for stopping ripping of stocks, it comes down to honesty, but thats the same with any thing, brushes, texts, patterns and works of art.

Make it a credit free section... or put a max post limit per person, Or both.

Thats tru but post whore are suspended no warnings.

The is always the method of appointing a few mods to recieve a pm of the stock before the user posts it then and only then can the user post it.

If we were to see people abusing the credits-per-post, we'd go ahead and remove the credits for posting in that section. It's not something we can't change down the road if it becomes a problem. That would discourage people from doing what has been mentioned previously. I'll bring it up to the rest of the staff.

Hmm, Well Axiom it would be nice to bring it to the attention of the other staff, and i would agree a vote would be a nice way to go about it, however there is no point to the vote if the potion is ruled out so best put it to a vote with the powers first.
