I think it's kinda dicked up when a member has an auction running for a couple days, and just as their bids are getting higher, decide that they want to edit the BIN. Take this thread for example...

    http://www.gamerenders.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=353330

The original thread advertised a steam account with a BIN of only 900 creds... AFTER bids had been placed, the original post was edited and the BIN raised. I think that after bids have been placed, the prices should be set... no editing should be allowed.

From what I was reading, it doesn't look like there is a set rule for it. It's just not something that people do...

The original bin was 1.2k or 1.5k

when someone placed a bid of 600, it was still the 1.2k or 1.5k bin, it wasnt 900 yet.

if no editing is allowed what of the thread that lower the bin, or allow an overbin

there used to be a rule that stated "the winner of the auction does not have to buy the item if the original post was edited. all bids can be voided by the bidder." it was something like that. but i agree.

edit: another problem will be the diamonds and platinums who can hide the "edited by" thing.

Does that really matter though? People put the bids and bins low because others will start to bid if it's cheap. I don't see anything wrong with that. You can't really expect to get a steam account for 900 credits, lol.

People allways edit actions though as they update it with current bids. Would be hard to register if people changed the bins or not. But if you have proof that the bin had been changed then you shouldnt have to buy something.

Create a second post right after you post the thread that has current bidder information?

Sounds like a good idea, but it wouldn't work in the long run.

Let's say the BIN amount of an item is set at 1000 credits:

    The first bidder bids 500.
    The second one bids 700.
The first one overbids for 900.
The second one places a bid for 950.

At this point I think that the original seller should be able to change the BIN, because frankly, why didn't either of them ("second" bidder in this case) just BIN it straight away?

    People will just put:

    BIN: Offer in PM

or soemthing, so it won't help.

I agree and disagree with this, putting a rule about this wouldn't work imo, as stated above people with a diamond and plat account could edit their post easily without it being noticed. There are so many problems with this that i honestly can't see it working.

Well, why not take away that part from the memberships? There have been plenty of people that abuse the hell out of the editing posts and noone can prove otherwise because it never shows. I know I could care less if I have something that shows if I edited my post or not. And as far as a BIN: Offer in PM thing, you could very easily place a rule that would state that if you are going to include a BIN, you must make it clearly visible in your auction. There just has to be a way to keep people from doing this.

It's my auction in the first place, so don't bother me with that ----.
I bought that steam account for a lot of credits, and I first placed the bin as 1500 if i'm correct. After that, I lowered it to 1200, lowered it again to 900. After I had some more bids, I thought, Hell; If im doing that I'll sell it for less then 50% of where I bought it from. So may I? If I might've raised it again with 100cr, I still am ripping myself off with that price, so you shouldnt complain.
