    So is it any keyboard you try?

    It might be your connector?

    The new keyboard we use is a ps/2 connection thing and the old one is one of those wierd big ones connected to a ps/2 converter thing. Should I clean the connections or something?

    you can try, and make sure no pins are crooked either, but idk if it will help.
