Yes Stephenie Meyer, the author of the Twilight Series. I'll admit, I really liked the Twilight series, so I was desperately hoping to like The Host. And she didn't fail. The Host is absolutely stunning. I just read about 500 pages straight through today. I couldn't put it down. Has anyone else read it? NO SPOILERS PLEASE.
I think her style of writing as a whole is based on a child like mentality. She insists on repeating the same thing 5 times over and it begins to agitate more adult literature readers who are used to picking up on facts and clues in one read. Her books tend to be repetitive and lack details. All of her books are described as being of the romance genre, but are filled with nothing more than the stereotypical media induced teenage drama crap you can find in any other book I likely won't touch this book.
Just raped the topic. Quick on the draw, there, Dem. I have watched a movie called The Host. It was a Korean Godzilla-type movie. It was good.
You make my skin curl dem dem. Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series was focused on a Young Adult audience: AKA Teenagers. The Host was focused solely on an adult audience.
This. Her style of horrible. She repeats the same thing over and over. Just read the first few chapters of Twilight, I was "forced" to skim through it and couldn't stand it. I've also noticed that her stories just drag on and on, nothing exciting happens. Because of this ------, all of my women friends have no damn lives anymore and they idolize an emotionally distressed, glittery vampire who can go out in the light and doesn't suck a girls blood because her scent made him fall in love with her.
Well I'm sorry your women friends have emotion attachment problems. You should slap them and yell "IT'S FICTION BITCHES"
I don't really like her books, even as a teenager. I didn't like Twilight, and I didn't like New Moon. So I most probably won't read The Host. Maybe it's because of my personal preferences, but I prefer classic novels. Ialso don't understand why people are so obsesed with Edward Cullen, especially since he is portrayed as a ridiculously pale guy.
If you want vampire romance, True Blood is better. Edit: Never mention Twilight in a topic. It will instantly become a Twilight topic no matter what. I will conduct an experiment to see if this is the case.
Pale suggests lack of exercise, thus also implying that after a few years he will become corpulent. ==
He's saying his lack of excercise will make him fat. ? Anyways, I'm pale (skinned... right?), but it's because I have oculocutaneous ablinism. Suprisingly, my hair and eyes are pretty dark, but my skin barely tans.
If you want vampire stuff period, go read Bram Stoker's Dracula or for modernization, Anne Rice's Interview with a Vampire. I do hate Stephanie Meyer's "literature" (can I even call it that?...). I don't want to sound redundant (unlike every page of Twilight lolololcheapjokelololol), but Dem summed up my thoughts perfectly. Meh... I guess I'll see the book, but there is INFINITELY more stuff worth reading.
I don't recommend Bram Stoker's Dracula for readers who are learning english though, since in Dracula the english is sort of...weird.
