Starting A Community Site?

    I don't know if there is a rule against posting this type of thing but, here goes:

    I'm thinking of creating an online community forum were people can go and talk about certain online games.

    But what i'm looking to know is what are the main things that i need to do to make it popular like gamerenders.com?

    What are the start - middle - end stages for creating an online community site from the type of package to go with ie phpBB, Invasion etc to the types
    of content in it to get it off the ground.

    In a nutshell what i'm looking to know is the whole in's and out's of starting an online community site.


    Please Help!!

    It's really good if alot people respect you and you are well known as a nice person on several sites. That's just to make your begin.

    When you invited all those people, you can go to forums where they accept free advertising.

    And when you did that you can buy advertising at huge sites.

    Clantemplates, gamerenders, gamebattles, and just search for big sites :P

    It will also help when you have some really unique things on your forum/site
