Very true about the invisionfree, but not really agreeing on the investing bit. Only investment I made back in the glorydays of SpRenders was buying my Ipb license for $150. After that, I didn't even pay other sites for advertising or any of that. Important imo is also that you're active on other forums and that's a great way of getting yours and your boards name spread. When people know you, they're bound to get curious and take a look at that link you have in your sig space Staffers that care are very important too, since they can really get you new members and make sure current members stick around.
