Steam (which is the only ones you're allowed to sell) CDkeys are locked into an account. Thus making them harder to scam.

Staff isn't that bad just don't be stupid. I admit, the voting system pissed me off big time but at least my arguments were legal and not as stupid as Morvs and now they are looking into a change. I would agree that you all are a little close-minded or probably not as open-minded as I am.

What you do need to do is be more active in graphics within the community rather then only behind the scenes and crawling out of your staff hole when someone starts a flame thread about staff. Excludes certain people who actually are active like Pulse, Kirbir, etc.

I ignored the 6 pages of crap for the most part lol.

Too lazy to read all of this, but I see still an argument about Gac. So this is to close this pointless discussion about him:

Gac was banned for a reason which has been stated here in this thread multiple times. He knew that he could request an unban 90 days after his ban, but he didn't. You know what he did? He started ban evading. That is quite not the way to get unbanned.
And that is not all. We intercepted a PM from him to another member here at GR while ban evading. He made very clear that his sole reason to come back was to piss off dementia. Now tell me, if you were a staff member, would you allow a member back who ONLY wants to start ---- with a fellow staff member? Of course not. And the majority of staff agreed, like anyone else would with the slightest bit of common sense.

But I guess you didn't knew this. And I don't blame you for that, not at all.
That is because I already said that people who got banned tend to give the story a nice twist and make it look like they are completely innocent and don't know what they possibly could've done wrong.

Staff do what we have to in order to maintain order on the site. Perhaps if the community didn't force us to be assholes and strict about rules, we wouldn't be forced to be assholes. The only reason you guys find Kirbir to be 'fun' is because she lets countless people off for things they should have been warned / suspended for, and shes been talked to repeatadly about that. Xlink I would hardly call active, hes rarely moderating anything, hes more of a member with a different color.

I suppose that none of this could be communities fault at all though, nope, never assume responsibilities for your own actions. People who know most of the staff LIKE the staff, people who spend time in the IRC LIKE the staff, people who break rules and get punished DISLIKE staff. People who act stupid and get beat on by the staff for their stupidity DISLIKE us. Think about it. Its not the actual position that turns the staff members into asses, its the responsibilities that come with the job, and with those responsibilities it means being fair, enforcing rules, etc.

Before I was made IRC Mod and later Global Mod and now Admin, I was part of Maj, Jay, Daz (DemsLover), Mav, etc. little group. Going around, flaming people, creating havoc on the site, etc.

As far as people getting banned for small reasons, 100% warning level = instant ban, 3 times repeat offenses is also an instant ban. We don't ban nearly as many people as you all would like ot think, and I would know, I am the one who bans the most people on the site, and 90% of them are people whom have scammed, have repeatadly broken the same rule, go against something they were DIRECTLY told by a staff member NOT to do, etc. which is all outlined in the rules as bannable offenses. 90% of the time someone asks us why someone was banned, if we know, we will tell you. We don't mind so much giving the information away, but we do like to know WHO we are giving information to. Morv, in this case, has been a repeat offender of rep abuse, has repeatadly been told to tone it down, has a very high warning level (higher than most people on the site by a long shot), etc. and if he rep abuses 1 more time that will make it his third strike, or if he attacks people with the 'rape' word in PMs, outside of the Last Word forum, etc. Morv has gotten away with... SOOOOOOOOOO much more than any member here ever has, even Majin, whom has something like a 380% warning across all of his accounts, and we keep allowing him back, primarily because he is back anyways on proxies and dynamic IPs and its far too much of a hassle to keep banning him every single day.

Sacrifice was banned becuase he was told, directly by Logical, to NOT ENGAGE IN SELLING GAME ACCOUNTS ON GAMERENDERS, and he preceded to make the transaction via PM. That, coupled with his warning level, repeated abuse of flaming outside the flame forum, being in general disrespectful to staff is what resulted in his ban.

Zain was banned for distributing warez via PM, and he has not asked to come back, but the other individual involved HAS come back, so more than likely, if Zain were to ask, he would be allowed back.

Gac was banned for challenging staff, in particular me, and I am sure you all know that of all staff here, the person you would try to avoid challenging is me. I am extremely manipulative, and I can easily find things to ban any member here for. Present ideas, complaints, suggestions in a reasonable manner, and I am all ears. Call me a faggot and dare me to ban you, and... guess what? You'll be banned. He was also selling SCAMMED steam accounts (ie warez) which we knew about for a LONG time (which is hte primary reason he was banned, because he called me out to prove it was scammed, and he had even stated in his posts he scammed them and then said, 'if they are illegal, ban me' when even the distribution of a legal steam account for any form of currency is illegal by steams ToS).

In terms of length of suspensions, for myself, and as its outlined in the staff 'handbook' in the staff sections, is 0 days with a warning, 3 days with a warning, 7 days with a warning, and then banned for the same offense (so 3-4 tiems you have to break the same rule before being banned, I think thats very leniant). We may be a bit rough from time to time, but thats the reason the spam section is here, thats why the last word is here, for members to break out and release all their anger or w/e you wanna call it and just go crazy. If a staff member is suspending for more than that it will likely be something like 99999999999999999999 days suspension, thus meaning a ban while waiting for a global or admin to log on to finalize the ban.

As for suggestions, we are very open minded about INTELLIGENT suggestions. Matter of fact, most of this site was made based on member feedback, the gallery, the memberships, the marketplace, the credits, the rep, new skin, upgrading the boards, sotw, laotm, etc. It is all based on members bringing it up as a suggestion, and they have been further refined by member suggestions, and most of hte upgrades on this site have been brought on by member suggestions. I am always willing to sit down, either in the suggestions forum, or MSN, or IRC in a private chat to disucss possible oppurtunities for the site, its my job at a staff member, and I try to respond as best I can as to why I believe we do things the way we do, or why we won't be changing what we do, so by all means, PM me, get in IRC, ask for my MSN, etc. and we can chat about suggestions for the site. We do member polls often, when the staff feel it isn't their place to make a final decision, examples are the skin competition (which was a $200 competition, decided by the members here), etc.

Dark was demoted due to inactivity, as I stated like 2 days after he was demoted. Staff all agreed it was time for him to go, as he had something like 7 mod actions in 6 months, which the general majority of GR makes more than that (because of open / close topics, pinning, deleting topics / posts, etc.).

I personally , don't think staff are bad at all. Sure they come off rough, but they have to do it sometimes to get the point across. I think the thing is that , most people emphasize on the staff being so bad that they don't realise when the staff have fun or what they've done for the community. From what i know , staff haven't asked us anything except respect and some invovlement around the forums. In other forums there are Staff members who will ban you , if you even question them on why they banned a specific indivisual.

i just determined that I'm too lazy to read this ----.

go play "slash wrists" with yourself and come back after you've lost some blood and gained some sense. Also bitching about internet rules... GTFO you can post whatever the ------ you want in this section so long as it's not illegal and you can post a lot of stuff elsewhere so long as it's within reason.
