Hello all, some of you who know me know how upsessed I am with pixel art in particular, Firearms. This has been a little hobby of mine for quite a few years. I am starting a contest hoping we can all have some fun with it. This contest will be a Modern Firearms contest. Each participant is to choose four firearms out of the ones I list below and draw your own version of them. For this contest I will award the the winner twenty dollars cash through paypal. I will judge on four aspects of each persons submission, they are as follows.

    1) Realism: This is a Modern Firearms contest, it is asked that you make each firearm look as real as possible.

    2) Shading: Shading is important, its what will give your firearm its own unique look.

    3) Theme: Whoever follows this contests theme and rules the most will score higher for example, say you choose to make an AK 74 in placed of an AK-47 this will hurt your score as your getting away from the themes rules on which models of guns are allowed to be made in this contest.

    4) Utilization of Space allowed: By this I mean how much space you take up with your submission on each weapon, for example just say the allowed background to work on is only to be 50x50 pixels and one contestant makes a weapon that's 17 pixels long and 6 pixels tall while another contestant make one 18 pixels long and 7 pixels tall. The person who made the second one will of scored higher in this category as they took better advantage of the space that was allowed.

Remember guys this is a contest and is meant to be fun with all this said lets get on to the rules.

    RULES:

    1) The background image: The background image is the image in which you will be drawing on. The background image is to be exactly 55 pixels in length and 17 pixels in height. The chosen color of the background image for this contest will be a lime green since its bright and will show each weapons colors and shading off quite easily. The exact color code for this background color is 0 (Red), 255 (Green), 0 (Blue).

    2) The outline: Every weapon is to have an outline surrounding the weapons of make. The outline of each weapon is to be just plain black.

    3) Be original: Your more then welcome to look up real guns of the ones ill list online as a reference for when you draw. Do not try to shrink weapons from an image and shade them in. These will be so obvious and never turn out well anyway.

    4) Good sportsmanship: This is meant to be fun, every contestant is expected to act mature and show good sportsmanship towards each and every contestant.

    5) All submissions are to be private messaged to me where they will be scored on a 10 point system based on the categories (aspects) I posted above. Do not post them out in the open as some people might try to imitate your weapons.

    6) This contest will end June 20th. All submissions are expected to be in by this date and by 11:59 pm. June 21st the winner will be announced and awarded in this topic.

    7) You are to choose four out of the five weapons in which will be mentioned. Do not send one or two in as a submission or all five as they will be discarded and not put into the ranking system. The five weapons in which are available for you to choose from are as follows and I will post some old ones I made as an example of each one.

    1: Desert Eagles- example [IMG]

    2: mp5- example [IMG]

    3) Steyr AUG- example [IMG]

    4) Law- example [IMG]

    5) AK-47 OR AK-74 with this one either one of the two will be fine, example [IMG]

Good luck to all and most importantly have fun!

If all goes well with this one I will host another one next month following this one. Most likely a World War II weapons theme.

no, he means taking out a canvas and drawing pixel by pixel a gun, selecting individual colors and such for shading and everything.

It clearly says what sort of contest it is. Its a pixel art contest. I used MS Paint to make those but you can use anything pretty much for pixel art. Everything is explained in the opening topic just read it over if you dont understand it, good luck.

Yes this guy knows exactly what im talking about except you posted material that isnt yours. All submissions are to be PMd to me.

Whoever posted the above one (trooper gun) its too big, for the love of god read the rules people. You MUST pm me your submissions and they MUST meet the specifications listed in the contests rules. You also only made one weapon and not only that it wasnt even one of the weapons allowed to be made. On a side note though nice try.

By the way I forgot to mention the winner of the contests guns will be used in a game modification for Soldat with all credits going to them along with the cash prize. So far I have not one entry. Its only pixel art im sure some of you guys can do it lots of you are very talented.
