We got 3 computers in my house. We share a 250kb/s DL rate (I KNOW ITS HORRID) Well if my sister isnt DLing music, my brother is, if he aint, then my mom is. Sometimes, 2 peoples downloading music. I will get like 4kb/s at times, and it SUCKS! So how can I fix this? Like get it so there can only be like 10 simultaneous DLs? Or even like get it so one computer has 80kb/s, the other has 80kb/s, etc.?
if you have traffic encryption and wireless protection turn it off when you need the speed and back on when your done downloading what you need.
Tried - they wont >.> And Im looking for something more along the lines of a program. If I can max my sis's DL rate to like 50KB/S (SHES A N00B, SHE WONT SEE A DIFFERENCE) it'd be better - my mom usually downloads when Im off my comp cause she knows better
I would say tell them not to do it simultaneously. I know how you feel, I share 150kb/sec download speed with my Dad, Mom, brother and myself it is hard! But the only thing you can do is get a better Internet Provider. I am swithing over to Comcast after this December, since we alrady paid for the 6 month contract with DSL ;( Zain
Our internet, phone, and TV are all bundled :S And my mom wont budge >.> I hate being a computer geek, when I tell her our net is slow, shes like "NOT UH! It's fast!"
The neighbors on my left are like 80 and the chick on the right is a hippie and dont even got a TV or a couch o.0
Well that could be a problem then. Just tell them to quit dling music or else the FBI will storm your house.
I wouldn't go with comcast either, lol, i've heard many a bad things about them. Like internet going out constantly, may come up for 10 minutes here and there, but then goes out again. Played Counter Strike where our teammate kept having to reconnect...
Sounds like you might have a router; Unplug wires when you need to. Or since you only have 250kbps, fix that instead.
...Try this If you have a router, go to the back of the router and press the little red button with a paper clip. Thus resetting the router. Then go back to your internet explorer / Firefox and then type in your router's ip address like 192.168..blah blah blah... tell me ur router and I can probably get your default gateway. After that you just have to go back into your router's configuration and re-enter your log in information, and your routers Access Key (which you might need to call your service provider for) Sometimes resetting the router helps out everything...takes about 20 minutes of downtime Try that! But I would suggest to switch to comcast. they have their new deal of $99 or something. Zain
