Spam In General?

I think there are alot of spam topics in General and possibly in the Latest News section. Dont you think?
Everyone, even myself, just post something simple. For example:

"Wow look at this video i found!

**link**"

then, almost all the posts is "wow. lol"


And then in the Latest News section, the admin post the new things, and almost everyone goes:

"Thx for letting us know.."


Spam? I think so. I also made these kind of posts, so im not saying im a nice boy.

So my suggestion is to remove posting for credits and posting for post count (or whats its called) in General Discussion section.
Would be something.

 

agree... dont see any reason why creds can make up in the general section either... taking the creds of in general would minimum the spamming i think

Hmm... if that's the case the only place to post for credits would be very limited and besides, would cut down the fun everyone in GR have to chat around and earn some creds.

hes saying that rather than turn off the posting for credits in the GD forum, to make a spam forum where peoples credits and/or post count will not go up, for stupid game-like things like "count to 1 million" and stuff like that. It would help keep those meaningless posts out of General Discussion and Latest News.

Personally I try not to spam, I am sure I have, as I am sure we all have, but if i really did my post count would be a lot higher than it is now lol

I think this could be a good thing and this could be a bad thing. The pros are that we cut down on the spammage by making the spammers leave and more meaningful posts will be made. The cons to this are that perhaps people leave, because General Discussion is one of, if not the most active forum on GR.com, people would spam elsewhere (hence the desire to create a spam forum), etc.

Also, just by saying, "word. good point." your technically spamming by how you defined it, just thought I would point that out for you lol

I think we should have a spam section, and all the funny vid's/pics can go in there.



Oooorrrrr, just have a pinned thread called 'Funny Pictures', or 'Funny Video's', to cut out the amount of threads.

 

Also good. Cause then it wont be those crappy threads about a funny video every half minute.

 

Problem with that is people will be posting going hahaha that was so funny, or that was rubbish don't watch, then you get spam in there.

We are deciding whether to create a spam section right now or remove the credits from the general discussion.
