The only problem with that is if you accidently place a .php file or something in there, it screws it all up. But thats the safest way to do it. The only thing else someone can do is inject openDir() to some other place and if it pulls up a php file they can download it and read it. However I believe PHP 5 fixed that problem
Honestly, it isn't meant for anything big and is more of a simple code for a simple project. (i.e for me a banner)
Luckily, accidentally placing a PHP file in there can be fixed by....simply deleting the PHP file.....lol.....unless of course you uploaded something afterwords...in which case you would just have to delete it and make sure the numbers are all consequent....and yes, as far as I know that bug has been fixed in PHP 5.
How about this for a much more intuitive and clean way to show your image: Code: <?php function randimg($strDirName) { if ($hndDir = opendir($strDirName)) { $intCount = 0; while (false !== ($strFilename = readdir($hndDir))) { if ($strFilename != "." && $strFilename != "..") { $intCount++; } } closedir($hndDir); } else { $intCount = -1; } return rand(1,$intCount); } ?> // In code
ravr, i like your blue template, but i dont think it really works as a gaming template. i think it could be a good start to a wordpress or something though the portfolio is okay too, but its a bit small imo. i understand you were probably going for the minimalist approach, but when making a portfolio, one of the main things that should be taken into consideration is the fact that a client will want it to be easy to read and use

I say we start on our own personal crew site... as long as everyone is for it. We can combine our credits and buy hosting somewhere or sell the credits for money and buy a domain. It would only make sense to have our own site. Along with it we can make a collab template for the site. Whatcha think?
I have hosting that I can donate to the cause. It's from a company that I've been with for 2 years and never had any significant issues or downtime. If the crew is going to warrant the purchase of it, I would be happy to donate 8 bucks and buy a domain name.
I think it would be a great idea, but the crew rules state that we aren't allowed to have an outside site. I broke this rule with Transparent Pixels, my rendering crew about a year ago, and the crew was shut down because of this. I refuse to endorse an outside site. There are several good free hosts out there that you guys can use to host your creations. If you would like, send me a PM and I will link you to a couple good ones. And iPro, commented in both places.
Ew free websites... I have my own personal site (tommyfx.com), but what if we just did our own little site with all of our own sub domains which we could use to experiment with? I mean isn't this group made for getting better at web design as a group?
I think I already addressed this. We are not allowed to have a website outside of GR If GR allowed it, I would be more than happy to give everyone a subdomain on my server, as I have extremely high levels of space and bandwidth, but it isn't allowed.
So what are we going to do exactly... because from what I am getting at... we are writing codes and making templates to just give to people.
hmm, thought it was pretty easy to read and use were ur hosted? i got 750 GB web space 7500 GB traffic ahh anyway too bad an outside site isnt allowed
Haha, I got a terabyte of space and a petabyte of bandwidth. I'm only using like 50mb of space and 500 megs of bandwidth though
