I'm fine to class him as coder, but I'm not going to put him in all around.
The original requirement was that members have at least 100 posts, I actually lowered it to 25 just for him.
I'm not going to count posts on a different account. If he wants to use the other account to apply I will count them, but if he's going to be using this new account with 0 posts, it appears that he's inactive. I understand that styles are different, but tbh I normally like most styles and his really doesn't do much for me. I see little point in arguing this. If he comes back with 25 posts, I'll accept him as coder, but I refuse to put him in all around.

dont think that is the problem, imo the designs you & rueterj showed were fairly simple.. but tbh i'm not too impressed by spartans skills too

Alright, here's what I'm going to do. I'm not too impressed with either of you guys, but I'll give you a chance. I've been waiting for rueterj to get his post count up but he still hasn't.

mttviper and rueterj, I want you to post here why you want to be in the crew. I'll count that as part of your application, and that will be what I base my decision on.

    So basically

mttviper, you have one week to either show me some more work or else post the above thing
rueterj, you have one week to get your post count to 25 or post the above thing

I am resigning my application, simply because, I was hoping to accepted into a group with a leader that (no offense) is more proficient in web development as a whole. To be honest, Spartan, from what I've seen, your "style", is any type of layout that looks like it might melt, if it was placed too close to an open flame. You are one for glossed styles, and gradients. To be honest, I was too, when I started design. Since then, I have grown as a graphic artist, and I have graduated to more modernistic colorschemes. You are buying into the whole "web 2.0" fad... but really, where the hell is "web 1.0". I do however, respect your opinion and your taste, but I don't feel that anyone here is qualified to critisize anyone's work in the manner that you have. Nor am I.

Also, as far as my post count is concerned, I find it kind of ironic that my post count is "0", and yet, look at this, you are reading POSTS from me! It doesn't seem to be adding up....strangely enough, every time I place the number of posts I can count on one page "from me, mind you, I am not just adding random posts" into my calculator, I simply cannot get 0. Please, if anyone else succeeds in this let me know! this could be ground breaking mathematics!

Also, I have put together another website, and for all that are interested, please take a look and let me know what you think of the DESIGN.
    http://krueter.info/

Furthermore, the phrase "no offense" is ridiculous, because it implies that you KNEW you were about to make a statement that would make you look like an ------. And yet, somehow, you think "no offense" is going to distract a person from the content of your message. For example, no offense, but you are a total retard. Instead of pretending NOT to be a jackass, why don't you just say what you mean rather than dancing around it.

(and for those of you who are thinking, "HEY! you used "no offense" in your first paragraph!" I am aware of that, I was using it to prove a point)

    and finally, I think it's total bull---- that the word PR O F E S S I O N A L is censored.

How do you figure I'm buying into the Web 2.0 fad? Most of my designs aren't "Web 2.0" style. I really don't think any of them are. I was just trying different things with each one. I really love designs like the ones Vengeance did, and I feel that they are in no way Web 2.0. I think Web 2.0 stuff can look really good, and it can load faster than most other designs, but I don't have that much of a preference. To tell the truth, I like the design itself of your new site, but I hate the fact that there is that random bit at the bottom that you have to scroll down for when there's a bunch of empty space between it and the main content. And the horizontal scrollbar.

Also, the post count is only incremented in some forums, and the crews section isn't one of them, and it's pretty much the only place you've posted. I counted all of your posts and you only have 9 in here anyways.

That empty space between the footer and the base of the DIV's is a mis interpretation on certain browsers, I had it fixed at one point but when viewing it in Safari, which unforunately is the only option available on my School's computers, the DIV was mis-aligned, or not apearing at all. it is fixed now.

As far as "web 2.0" loading faster, I don't know who spoon fed you that load of BS, but you are horribly misinformed my friend. Simply the fact that most "web 2.0" styles consist of more images than a standard DIV and table layout, it would make sense that it would take LONGER to load. Also, load time is not necessarily an issue, as a large portion of the population is using a highspeed connection of some sort.

As far as the posts go, that was my mistake, I was unaware of the non-incremental posts in the Crews section, as it is not labeled on the "crews" subforum.

I see that you fixed that, but I'm still getting a horizontal scroll bar even though the only thing that isn't fitting on the page is that dashed border around the top banner thing.

About web 2.0 loading faster, it all depends on the design. Most web 2.0 style designs use a repeating graphic, so when coded correctly can load faster than a template of a different style that uses more graphics for buttons and other things. However, if you have a pure css site with no graphics that will load faster. They may have more images, but the images often repeat, making it so they can still load faster.

About highspeed connections, I think you would be quite surprised if i told you that much of my city(1.5 million people) doesn't have high speed internet. Our school is only on 128k and I know many people that only have 56k. Just because the connection technology is becoming faster doesn't mean that everyone's connections are getting faster as well. Some people still don't want to have to pay the extra money for DSL or cable and would rather just stick with dialup. Loading time may not be an issue for many of the graphics sites and whatnot where most of the people that visit probably have fast connections, but when building websites for real world companies, loading time can quite often be a factor.
