I know I posted this once before in color and a not so different BW version, but here is my SOTW entry, I got some comments on it already, but how is it? Any criticism?
I wont give critism but I will give a critique. There seems to be no general flow which upon intitial glance causes some focal confusion along with the black lines cause some oddball line flow all of that I suppose would be fixed with a little more depth and flow effects not much just enough to emphasis the flow of the render with it right now the bg doesn't flow completely with the render. Now on the side of the positive Critique it is good in the sense it has good render effects and lighting the highlights seem to help the with the overall dark feel and the text is good and in good placement to the render. good job
Thanks. I agree with the flow thing, the background is actually a portion of the original stock cut out. I couldn't do much with the flow without ruining the emphasis of the effects and lighting. I know where the flow is lacking. In my opinion the black lines make the sig a lot better, I took them away and it looked a lot less detailed. I think their position and angling could have been different.
I like the typography. I cant read the small text, maybe because I'm on 1900x1200 resolution. It would probably look better with colour. -
Not bad. A tad too busy, with the rain mixed with the effects you used. Depth is good, but focal needs work. Text could be better, it's a little too big and distracting. Nice work.
