*Laughs, falls to the grounds, rolls around while laughing, then gets up, and laughs some more* You've been sadly misinformed my friend. It came out in Japan for 189, most likely 175 about here. Games are going to be under 40 I know, I think about 25-30 dollars. I may be mistaken. And I WILL get this over DS. DS is made by greedy nintendo, which I won't get into here unless someone argues and makes me. However, it's touch screen is nothing more than a novelty. In fact, many 3rd party developers have said that they will not support the touch feature. Now, with Nintendo's last trick gone, and time after time proven Sony outsells and outpreforms the Big N, it's obvious who the better choice is here.
unfortunately the battery pack has a short life span and it runs out quickly, just get another portable. If you want a PS2 get a PS2 and get something unique for road travel with new games and not ports. the PSP is horrid, it will be funny when people discover what disc read errror is, namely the reason my PS2 has dust on it, fear of destroying it, why waste a perfectly good PS2 when I have a GC that won't die on me? BTW, so far i have yet to hear a reason what makes the PSP so great that can't be either nullified in someway or turns out to be bad has batery pack:dies quickly is like a PS2: few new ports has a large screen: screen is prone to many defects and is not protected from scratches I can watch movies: congrats airplanes normally have that, and there is such a thing as a partable DVD play, something that has better battery life and a bigger screen etc.
First off, just get another damn external battery if you whine so much about it. As for disk error, I don't know exactly what you mean, but if you're talking about anything before, the technology is still new and is being improved. Hell, the PS3 melted. You think all PS3's will melt because it did in testing? No, they fix it. As for a reason, it's the best handheld out there. Right now, Nintendo has no competitors. So, I'll compare the two. Name 5 GOOD 3rd party developers for Nintendo, that make Nintendo-exclusive games and aren't remakes of old games. Not too easy, since most of their good games are made by Nintendo itself. That means, there are less good games to be made at a time. Sony however, ever since they split and made Playstation, has had good 3rd party's backing it up. Reason being? Nintendo thought the companies would stay with the one that had been around longer. However, since Playstation played discs, and 64 played cartridges, many developers went with the better company. So, basically, PSP will have the better games, and more of them. Anyone that says "Nintendo get b1g charters", so what? They have a series, big deal. Sony has games with varieties, and better quality. Nintendo should just go out of consoles, and make games.
