I consider myself to have quite a bit of experience with troubleshooting xp and stuff but i cant seem to figure out how to fix this one.... Ok ... my aunt wanted me to install windows updates and also get sp 2 installed since she runs dial up and im on broadband. So i go thru and eventually get sp2 installed after much frustration(virus and other issues preventing updating) Well it was installed and restarted all was well in the neighborhood. Then i also put in the m$ auto updates she needed... Now i lost the taskbar and desktop restarted explorer doesnt help cant go through system tools to get system restore(and i dont know what the exe name is to start it in taskmanager) So basically i lost most of the shell to windows... anyone have some ideas on a fix besides formatting which is a bad fix..... using xp --- btw need anymore info let me know will be checking ------ frequently until i can get the problem solved
