Yup yup yup. He called me in the morning asking for my address so he can put my down as a reference. I'll be joining the army with him. He might go a little later, but not by to much.
He lives a few miles from my house.
wow. good luck shneaky and carbine hope you don't have to go to iraq
Odds for me not going to Iraq are way against me. I faced that fact a while ago. Shneaky might not have to go to Iraq because he won't have a combat MOS (Military Occupational Specialty).

I just noticed my post, and I meant that I might be joining a little later (I said he might). And yeah, I plan on having the same MOS as Blazeman. I've talked to him on the phone and all that good stuff, and he's been giving me all the right things to look at, to make sure I get the job I want, which conveniently is the job he has xD. And yeah, I live about 7 miles from Carbines house. He's always talked about joining the Army, and it never really thought of a possibility for me until just last year. But hopefully we can do the program that allows friends to go to the same Basic Training Facility as each other.
Impossible. You're going to a Co-ed (boys and girls) basic training facility. Probably Fort Jackson in SC. I'm going to Fort Knox. Unless you're going to join an armor unit (Calvary Scout, M1 Armor Crewman), you can't go to Fort Knox. And there is only two places out of 5 in the army that are not co-ed, Fort Knox and Fort Benning. Depending on what your MOS is, you go to specific basic training places. Example, all men who enlist as Infantry (girls can't have a combat MOS) go to Fort Benning, GA and all armor units go to Fort Knox, KY.

UPDATE: Unfortunately, I wasn't able to reserve my 19K MOS, so instead I am a 19D, Cavalry Scout. Here's some more info on that. click. Also, my ship date to Fort Knox, KY is on August 18, 2008. But there's a good chance that it might be pushed back into September.
Good luck. The best advice I can give you is don't die, nothing else I can say would really help you.
That's great that you're joining. My dad is a Marine, and I'll be joining the Marines when I'm old enough.
