I am agreeing with bona on this except for one thing. Cross fire is more advanced than SLi. Trust me on it. It is a newer technology. SLi have been out forever, since 1997(used on the PCI slot by voodoo GFX cards) or perhaps earlier. crossfire offers a clear performance boost and the ability to mix and match cards leaves it ahead. You still cannot beat a single good card with two inferior ones though, it just does not work...

I will admit, Nvidia's rendition of SLi varies from the voodoo one.

So you're saying newer is better? Unconditionally? You must not have heard about Presler or Cedar Mill...

Crossfire has significant drawbacks that you didn't mention. Prior to the X1K series, the max supported resolution was 1600x1200. The X1K's have cleared that up, but there's still another issue. Crossfire, unlike SLI, requires a master card, which can run anywhere from $50-$100 more than the "slave" card. You also need a dongle to conjoin the two. SLI is a much simpler process, consisting of only two cards and a bridge.

Don't get me wrong. I love my X1800XT to death, but Crossfire is by no means superior tech, yet. Key word is yet, as ATI has about 2 years to catch up to nVidia. I don't count the Voodoo SLI because nVidia has made leaps and bounds since then.
