About GR's SOTW: Don't you think it should be us, users, voting, not the staff ? See the results for #41, if i'm not wrong .
Meh, too much dick riding goes on either way. People often vote by names and popularity. Atleast this way its on a smaller scale and you know who you have to suck up too come SOTW. Limits the field if you wanna win.
I've done much better tags than the ones who participated but wtv. Isn't DraveN always on top3? I don't say his are bad, they are very good, but one time or another i've seen better .
"One thing bad about member voting is that some members would only vote for famous taggers. Even the tags are not good enough. I think the judges has the capability to choose who is the winner.
This sort of thing happens on all forums. However at the end of the day what i think is ---- you might really like, vic-versa.
this argument has come and gone too many times already, i made it before i was the moderator. i think too many people care too much about the results, i know I vote for the one's i see the best points in, but my main biff is that not enough staff vote each time, which really angers me. I've disagreed strongly with other's votes before, but thats what you get from an open vote (at least for me and kirbs) and theres nothing to argue, different people see different things. I feel i've seen better than draveN's now and then, but not others share the same taste. not to bash you, but i have seen better than yours quite frequently, yours are good but dont give yourself too much credit cuz you havent won 5 in a row. I think the streak is a bit ridiculous myself but look back at ow many he's won beforehand. not many, at all. he did a lot of work and got back into them fairly recently, and people like his style i guess. I just go week by week, when i see the best, thats where i place my votes. I just hate it when people get angry they lost. It happens, im sorry. keep in mind that only 3 of those people are winners, the rest are ALL in the same boat as you.
I wasn't angry i didn't win. I said there were better ones than the winners, DraveN always on top3 is a bit weird. His style is great, but as mentioned, i've seen better often . Thanks for your reply tho .
not just you, people always complain that there were better than the winners, but the voters dont always have the same eye. the detail they see isn't going to be the same, and you have to keep in mind that it doesnt matter how long you spent making it, as long as the product looks good. i just don't appreciate half the competitors raising arguments without looking at it from both angles. before i was the competition moderator i believed I made an extremely valid point of why we ought to change the voting system, but other members who don't know how to keep their emotions out of the internet got my thread closed. now that I set all these up and see all the voting, and count the votes myself, I can see even better that the only real issue is that I need to make sure more of the moderators are voting each week, or just delay the returns to give them more time to notice the thread. I'll do everything I can but I just want you to realize that its really not worth making a big commotion over. p.s. i disagree with the sotw 41 example, I voted for all three of those, in that order. sorry.
