    hey guys,

I just wanted to drop by and tell u guys this sad little story about Signature-Arts...

Apparently it all sparked up here in Gamerenders when an unknown person decided to Spam peoples inbox with Advertisement about Signature-Arts.

Signature-Arts came to be about 2 months ago when a young kid decided to start a Site for Signatures after being amazed at the artistic content. With NO experience in web design and signatures, he began a forum from FreeForum sites.

He had invited me along after i had done a request from him. Thinking he won't make it far i went along anyways coz he had so much enthusiasm.

He spent so much time getting to know the members personally that the members just decided to invite their own friends.

None the less, I stuck around after seeing the innocence in him.

Soon he was approached by someone and was offered Free Hosting. I guess the person saw that the site had potential. It was then transformed and upgraded with new skins, forums, etc.

Mind you, he has NO experience in websites so im guessing the Host helped him out by installing forums, skins etc.

Soon, more members joined up and he ran the site flawlessly. Perfecting every detail, satisfying every member.

Until there came to a point where More and more moderators were applying. One way to become a moderator was to invite your friends and bring in more members. I'm guessing some idiot decided to spam advertise to score a Mod position.

Someone had told me about this thread
    -> http://www.gamerenders.com/forum/index.php...pic=84957&st=0&

After reading this I was DEVASTATED... As a father of 2 children, I could not bare to be the one to tell him. So much effort and time... for nothing. It wasn't even his fault.

While telling him about it and chatting to him on msn, I could sense something different about him, like he had lost the life in him. I think he gave up... what else could he do? NOTHING.

I really do feel for the guy, you might not feel the way I do, but i just needed to let you guys know of this sad little story so that maybe you could provide information as to who this anonymous spammer might be. Or maybe that this spammer might own up.

You can laugh about it and shrug this off. But i assure you that you will only laugh until something like this has happened to you.

    Thank you for your time.

Yeah, I know. I read it. I still don't see how that has caused much grief. If he has done nothing wrong, then he has nothing to worry about.

Thing is, the owner didn't spam the PMs, and even in the PM he implies that he's not the owner of the site, but rather just trying to get visitors.

Well, it's his fault for having one of the ways to be a mod opened to a spam whore.

I feel nothing for the kid.

I also notice how the maker of the thread only has one post here...

Another ploy to get people to visit the site?

Either way, I'm not going to have sympathy, either. If he's not at fault, then all can be fixed easily, but if he IS at fault, then I'm certainly not going to feel pity on the kid.

Wow, I have to say that blows, to have your site reputation ruined cause of a spammer, but still, it's not like he should have went and gave up, so his site has a bad name on IP, he should've went and tried to work harder to prove that their site isn't as bad as people say, but w/e

I doubt anyone would know him. He had zero posts, and did a mass PM spam.

No one would want to know him.

You wrote the story in such a way that it implied that you wanted us to feel bad and want to help the guy out. Whether or not that was your intention, it was a "sad" story trying to pull at the heart strings of the users, so we'd try and give you information on a spammer.

The identity of the spammer is not important. So he spammed and caused a little bit of trouble. Deal with it by having the owner change the rules of becoming a mod. Whoever offers the position of moderator for exchange of bringing in a few friends doesn't know what he's doing, anyways.
