nod32krn is your virus scanner 'Nod 32' (fine choice :P)

msnmsgr is windows Messenger ( I think the one that comes with windows)

vsmon.exe : vsmon.exe is a processs associated with the ZoneAlarm personal firewall. It is used to monitor Internet traffic and generate alerts depending on the security rules configured by the user.

that is your firewall. I dont think Nod 32 has a firewall but im just gonna throw this in, its probably not the thing but they might be conflicting with each other.

It's all right, and if this all doesn't work, you should re-install your windows (and if possible, also format), but that's the last thing you should do.

    About the majoorgeeks site:
It explains every windows services, what it does and if you can disable it or not and where it is needed for. etc.

    About the Tune-Up program, I think it's worth a try :D
