I noticed that Typhest's tut covered scan lines, I tried the effect, and it was nice. I messed around a little and I'm going to pull some tips. So I'm going to cover several things today. (Ready, kids? jk). Anyway, providing that you've read Typhest's scan line tutorial, which can be found at http://www.infinity-effect.com/foru...hread.php?t=662 , I'm going to start. (read the tut first if you haven't already.) If you wanted to make a grid, you can make a horizontal scan line pattern and a vertical scan line pattern and fill in both of those, OR you can do the following: Make a new 3 px by 3 px. Grab the pencil tool, and fill in the whole bottom row and the whole left column. It should look like an L. The gridlines are best used on a softer blending mode of a lowered opacity, or at least a grey (or whatever your color scheme is.) If you find that the lines are too dense when making a 1x2 and filling in one of the pixels, simply make a 1x3 and fill in only one pixel. You can also play with blending modes, or, as Typhest suggested, add a mask (bottom of layers palette) and play with the gradient tool (G) to get that to work. Another good thing to play with is diagonals. Make a 3x3 document, zoom all the way in, and grab your pencil. Fill in the bottom right pixel, the top left pixel, and the pixel in the middle. Go to Edit>Define Pattern, and you're set! NOTE: If you want the lines to go the other way, swap the locations (left and right) of the corner pixels. If you want to spread out your lines, make a new document. (e.g. for boxes, make a 4x4 instead of a 3x3.) Then, follow the same pattern, (so, for boxes, make the L shape along the left and bottom sides of the 4x4 document). NOTE: To spread out the lines for diagonal patterns, you MUST have odd numbers, e.g. 3x3, 5x5, etc. Happy messing around!
I dont know if im doing it right Can someone post a screenshot of these steps: 2. Zoom in all the way and take the Pencil tool set to 1px and make a 1px wide line all the way down the left side. 3. Then make a line across the bottom so there is a 2 by 2 size square in the upper right hand corner. Thx for helping
Sphix, it should look like this. And yes I  scan lines too feel free to rep if you like the tut.
