This is for all you American GRers. I just took the SAT yesterday, and I wasn't impressed. It really wasn't that hard. I don't get my scores back until Feb. 14th, so I don't know how I did, but I feel good. I took the Princeton Review course, so I was like a veteran, but still. I was expecting more. What did you guys think of the SAT?

Standardized testing is simply designed to show whether or not you learned everything necessary to continue to the next step of schooling, and to which speed you will be taught.

I took the ACT and scored a 31 as a sophomore shortly before being expelled, never took the SAT, and passed the GED and CAT in the 97th percentile (scored higher than 97% of all others whom took the test, and all entering college students) and both of which took me about 1/4 the time the average individual would do it in.

In short, if you are intelligent enough to be a senior, your intelligent enough to pass standardized testing with a bare minimum of an average grade.

The GED and CAT are specialized though. And the ACT is actually a good test of knowledge. seriously, all the SAT tests is how well you can take the SAT. As my princeton review teacher said "the colleges dont realize that the ACT is the future".

GED is specialized towards letting them know that you know everything a senior graduate would.

CAT tests through advanced college courses to determine which courses youd be capable to take as a freshmen in college without issues.

I don't really care for any form of standardized testing. It does its job in terms of schools determining whom to let in and whom isn't going to be capable with the the learning curve, but besides that, it really shows nothing in terms of real world knowledge (or, in most circumstances, common knowledge), which is what will let you live longer and definitely live a more fulfilling life than a simple school education will.

I think you're full of it and aren't allowed to say much of anything unless you're in the top 2%.

and no they aren't that hard.

no. you guys are full of it.

    1) according the standardized NJ tests and the PSAT, i AM in the top two percent. i didnt want to say that because i would sound ------y, but if you want be a jerk, go for it.
    2) i never said i did well. i just felt good about it afterwards.

im sorry if you didnt do as well as you liked, but im just saying how i felt. no need to be argumentative. there wasnt anything i didnt know in grammar and math, and the reading questions werent too involved... im sorry if i seem ------y. im not belittling your efforts, im just saying how i felt.

being in the top 2% is nothing, out of 300,000,000 americans, there are 6million in the top 2 percent.

I myself am in the top 2 percent of people as defined by intellectual capacitance. WHO CARES?
