In Roman mythology, Orcus was a god of the underworld, punisher of broken oaths, more equivalent to Pluto than to the Greek Hades, and later identified with Dis Pater. He was portrayed in paintings in Etruscan tombs as a hairy, bearded giant. A temple to Orcus may have existed on the Palatine Hill in Rome.

Icarus is the son of Daedalus. His father created a pair of wax wings and attempted to escape Crete with his son by flying. He told Icarus not to fly too close to the sun but Icarus disregarded that and flew closer to the sun, resulting in the wings melting and him falling to his death.

Hades is the brother of Zeus. After the overthow of their Father Cronus he drew lots with Zeus and Poseidon, another brother, for shares of the world. He had the worst draw and was made lord of the underworld, ruling over the dead.
