Hey i want to get a router for Xbox Live so can someone give me some good reccomendations and will i need some kinda chip to put in my computer
If you already have a LAN ethernet socket already in your PC (most motherboards have one integrated into them these days) then you won't need to open up your PC or anything like that. However if you dont have one of these sockets then you will need a network card which you will usually need to insert into your PC (unless you buy an external one which isnt as good and expensive). As for routers... it depends on where about you live and what's available.
i suggest you purchase the D-Link 'DI-604' broadband router, it's designed for high speeds and is ideal for the PlayStation and XBox Live! Hope the info was sueful if you haven't already bought one??
d-link defenatly have some good adsl router models and are reasonably cheap. as for a chip in you computer...as Llama said, chances are your motherboard will have an onboard network interface card, but if its an old one, it proberbly wont. if you dont have a network card, they are only ike 30 bucks for a good one.
