Alright, I'm planning on getting a new computer soon, a couple months at the most. I've been looking around and I've put this together, if there's any conflicts you see, feel free to let me know and yell at me. Also, if you could suggest any ways to trim off money, they're always accepted :D

if you are a newb, overclocking might be a little beyond you at the moment and an Athlon X2 4200+ would be more adviseable. The Opteron 170 at stock though is still pretty respectable.

Get this HSF if you do decide to OC

    get this if you don't

if you need high storage capacity get this drive insteed, better performance, RAID0 two for a bit better performance if you wish

if you would prefer a faster HDD(helps speed up a lto fo things) try getting a WD1500 and then RAIDING it in a year or so when you want mroe space and/or speed

silvartus, i'm using this mostly for gaming, along with some video and photo editing. i'm also trying to spend as little money as possible for a nice machine, so there's also a limiting factor there

IMO, if your gonna overclock get the Big Typhoon, if you arent get a zalman cnps7700, they are silent.
Also do you need a crossfire board? Look at a 7900gt, it should perform better.
