I need to reset the program a file opens with.
I'm using a .rsn and normally, it doesn't open with anything, but someone changed it so it opened in Notepad and it won't play anymore. I need to change it back so it opens with nothing.
    Can anyone help?

Right click the file. Click on Open with - then browse. And look for the program you want it to open with.

If you right click it and choose open with, you can select the program you want to actually open it.

    Right-Click the file.
    Go to Open With ...
    Go to Choose Program
And then pick "Dummy" from the list.

    That should work I think.

but that's the thing: if you do that, it doesn't play in winamp. I want it so it doesn't open it in anything

EDIT: I don't see dummy on the list

Right click the item. Go to Properties. Then change the Open With setting to whatever you want. It will make files like that all open with the same thing ^_^
    Hope that helps.

After it has been asigned to a program. I dont think you can switch it back.
I suggest just making it automaticly open in whatever program you want.
And to do that, do what i said. Right click it, then click Properties. Then click Change next to Opens With: And change that to the program you want it to open with from now on.

The file extention isn't on the file name so it won't change the file at all

    I hope you're joking....or being sarcastic....

Delete it and re-download it, iono, might work, probably not though.

EDIT: You want WinAmp to open it(as your post a little above here says) so do what everyone else said and choose Winamp on the list :P

what the...? you got to be kidding me:
It fixed itself so it works now >.<

to answer the previous question, when i opened it yesterday in winamp, it appeared as "C:/.../dkcq.rsn" on the playlist, and since it only did it when the file was fiddled with, i thought it had a connection to that.

Thanks for your time and input everyone.
