How many of them were given based one someone liking there opinion?

All these things you now say are against the rules are still being tolerated, if your going to implement something then make sure all of it is taken care of.

You have to remember that the staff is still in the process of cleaning up the reputation system and all of that. I highly doubt that you would like to sit there going through pages upon pages of reputation for people like kirbir or gurly, along with the numerous members with all numbers in between. It takes time and it's still being done when staff members have the time to spend doing so.

You just helped prove my point.

Cleaning up the Rep is/would be time consuming, so why not just start over.

We can then monitor it more closely.

These people who have 200+Rep got it for a reason, so once it is reset they can +Rep them again for the resources or free stuff they give out.

I'm still not agreeing at all with you over this... why should we set back those who rightfully earned the rep in the first place? You're taking 2 steps back for 1 step forward in my book.

People can still rep them, no?

Why are you gonna change the rules, if your not going to take care of it? A lot of people will have their opinion based reps gone, the only type of rep left to be given after the reset is Rep given for a real valid reason.

So all those people who lost there rep, if they got repped according to the rules, will gain or still will be at the top of the rep ladder.

The users with lots of rep deserved to get it in many cases. So deleting there rewards for there contribution to this forum is going to have a negitive effect to those who have worked hard for them.

I honestly don't mind starting over.
Rep honestly doesn't mean anything anymore. So many [-] for the silliest of things and [+] for even odder reasons.
I don't post tutorials or resources hoping that I might get some rep for it. I post em to help people out.

If rep was reset or even taken away it wouldn't make a difference in the community.
The only thing it would do is piss off those who actually care for it.
But hey, now it gives those kids a chance to have the "most" rep if that is their goal instead of enjoying the community.

In my opinion I think it should be taken out entirely.
Mainly because as stated above it is meaningless now and doesn't mean anything.
Remember when you used to get [+] for rendering things?
Now you have to like give somone a giant ass muffin and look good doing it to get a [+].

The best way to describe this suggestion. We're trying to just limit the number of invalid reputations in the future. Removing past ones is just a clean up project we'll work on when we have the time.

Whats with all the complaining, people are saying " ahhh the site is goin down hill" , " put this place the back it was " Thats whats really wrong with this place if anything, people simply complain TOO MUCH, no one is forced to be here so instead of whining about how bad this place is why not focus on the posatives? like the fact the user count keeps rolling up and up, the increased ammount of HQ works this place produces, the unlimited help ,support and recources at our hands.

I think the reps should remain, people have done the correct thing and earnt their reps,to take them away would be a foolish and selfish thing.

The credit system i think is one of the best and most unique things about this place, it keeps the recources that we need available, without it people would have little to no reason to offer out tuts, renders, tags ect ... other then the over rated sense of well being that only comes from sharing, most would rather keep or not create these recourses.

I say, KEEP THE REPS & KEEP THE CREDIT SYSTEM.

Quick suggestion touching on BFTP comments.

Prehaps, reps become a thing only a moderator may hand out, or another spacific groups of leaders give. Where-by users nominate another user for a rep based on the users ongoing helpfulness ect....

Can't we just have a chaacter limit of over 10 or something(maybe more). That would stop the "<3 u" ones.
