I always thought reps were meant to be a way of showing the actual reputation on the forum, they were meant to be given as a privilige and not asked for. However going round posting, I noticed that alot of people have stuff in there sigs asking for +reps or with the link in there sig, doesn't this go against everything the system runs for? or is this just generally accepted nowadays? the rule is you are not allowed to ask for +rep so yeh it shouldnt be in there sigs, but its just become so common now that Llamaman and Big Dave cant edit every1s sig area if it contains that so maybe if they intraduce a fine if people are caught with it in there sig maybe that would work
no i dont think it would lol. I have always thought about doing that, but never have because I would most likely recieve a -rep in return
sound familar - +REP IF YOU THINK THIS IS HALERIOUS This sort of asking annoys me, even hinting towards it, +rep is a privialge, should never be asked for, was wondering if admins could set a rule or something, or coment on -repping when they ask (ask as in beg) for a + rep. Daz
i think if you say +rep if deserved that is ok (like for a render) but if you say +rep or creds must be sent if you want it then the Mods and Admins should take care of it
They are basically like the old donate coins and such. They are not against any of the rules yet, but we are always on the look out for people asking for or who are looking to buy reps.
i do agree..... if you dont all know.. A + REP... ( Rep STANDING For reputation) <-- See.. reputation.. if you dont know what that means then go on www.dictionary.com and define reputation... And you will find.. The definition of reputation is not.. Buying or asking.. its "The general estimation in which a person is held by the public." Not.. Asking for it in your sig... lol
Alright, I understand all this, now me being a total newbie to this community, I'm curious as to when you can hand out +/- rep. Is it after a certain number of posts? And is it unlimited? Like I see I have 1 rep point, is that rep that was given to me or after a certain amount of posts did I recieve the ability to cred or minus 1 rep from someone???
Ok this is what I think.. The rep buttons in the sigs are fine..its just there as another way to get plus repped I guess...its not a big deal.. People who ask for reps in their sig is just stupid...thats going against the rules... -After I think 175 posts you can start +repping but I'm not totally sure if its that much... -It is unlimited but abusing it will get your repping powers taken away. Also you can only rep one person every 3 weeks. -You can get repped with 0 posts..it matters how many posts the person who reps you has not how many you have. -I didnt understand the last sentence -You can cred people at any post count.
