    Welcome to my Rendering Tutorial!</span>
    <span style=\'color:gray\'>Created by: BlaqueMajik

Start out by finding a picture you would like to use, for this tutorial, I am using a pretty simple Guild Wars picture.

Now, open up your picture in Photoshop [File > Open...]

Second, create a layer underneath the picture with a backgroung of any color that is not present in the picture, and if need be, add a brightness/contrast layer above the picture to see the edges better.

Next, choose the pen tool [P] from your toolbar, zoom in a bit, and create anchor points on the edge of the object you want to cut out.

If you are confident with the pen tool, you may want to try using the curve feature by clicking and dragging the pen tool to create a curve to match the object.

Finish up by going all the way around the object and select what you just traced [Crtl + Click layer] and then delete the layer "Shape 1".

Now, with your selection, click on the original picture layer and then select the inverse [Ctrl + Shift + I] and hit delete. You should now see your render with a colored background. At this point, with your selection still up, you could feather it by 1 pixel [Select > Feather], contract by 1 pixel and delete the excess [Select > Modify > Contract], or some other effect that other people use. Also, get rid of your brightness/contrast layer you probably were using to render.

Last step, get rid of your colored background layer, and save it as a .PNG to preserve its transparency. If your render still looks choppy, try going over it again with the pen tool or even an eraser to smooth it out.

^ Yes, I know, it sucks.
